Has anyone else seen this? I downloaded it last night off of Limewire, and I'm not terribly fond of Rockabilly music, but I saw George, Ringo and Eric all guest starred, so I decided to download it (eh..yes..I download...so sue me...actually....please don't). I got really into it before George even showed up.
But when he came out (my first thought...er...random shouting...was "I wanna have your babies!") it was just so cool. I know Carl Perkins was one of his big guitar heros, and he just looked so absolutely jazzed to be there, he was dancing around in typical George fashion, and he sang "Everybody's trying to be my baby" and his voice sounded amazing.
I just giggled the entire time. It was great. I'm completely in love with this video....well what I've seen of it so far, it's not completely done yet. I only got to the part where George asks Carl to play some echoing thing (oh yeah..that's descriptive...lol) but I can't wait to see the rest of it.

You can get the dvd off of eBay and, I believe, Amazon. George does indeed look in awe of his rock idol, Carl Perkins. It's really cool to see someone we're all in awe of in awe of somebody else!
And yeah, I loved the George dance. His voice remained in good form throughout.

This was such a great show! I think it was on HBO or Cinemax back in the 80's. PBS showed it in 2002 and I taped it then. The song George and Carl were talking about was "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise," one that Les Paul did with Mary Ford back in the '50's. The Beatles used to do that song back in their bar-band days. It sounds alot like "How High the Moon." That's the kind of thing my dad used to play back in his bar-band days!

One of my favorites! I do enjoy rockabilly music (I get tired of it after a while, but for a short time, I find it exhilarating...and it's fun to dance to!) and you're right, it's so cool to watch George look so happy and exciting to be hanging around with one of his idols. I always enjoy seeing them act like fans around their idols just like we do. I love Dave Edmunds on this show too, but I've always been a fan of his too.

After the video finishes downloading, I could just take the sound from the video file (which has really nice sound quality) Seperate it out into tracks, and upload it for anyone who wnats it. It might take a little while, because my computer could be the slowest thing ever invented, but if anyone wants it, I'll do it.

I do have this....it is great fun. I love the way they all sit like school boys :)
George was definetely the star pupil. Carl just adored him (it's strange to see George get more attention then Clapton, because usually whenever Claptons anywhere, he gets to play all the solos)

Eric's a fantastic player, that is a given, I could not help but notice during that session that he seemed a little out of place, and George was in his element, George's playing was top notch almost aggresive which is nice to watch.
I think that is because George's background more comes from music like from Carl, and Carl was one of George's heroes, and that shows throughout the whole show. I have not really noticed that about Eric, but in general, when he plays at gigs from or with others, he tend to hold back a bit

On the notes with the DVD it has a nice little story. For those who only have the downloaded version part of it says:
"Two days of rehearsals were booked for September 1985 at Nomis Studios in west London. Ringo could only make it for one day. George Harrison too. Clapton was in Japan and went straight from Heathrow Airport to Limehouse Studios in London's Docklands, on the site of what is now Canary Whart, for the show. The fans turned out in their finest fifties finery to honor the father of Rockabilly."
So...just thinking this may be one reason Clapton was a trifle demure - just a touch of jet lag.
I own the DVD and George rocked the hell out of those songs! What an illustrious line up he was in for that show. Damn, they all set the place ablaze with those songs!
