Just like writers write books, filmmakers make films, etc. songwriters can embody a "character

I think that Em had/still has a level of anger inside of him. You can't possibly have the life he did and not have some baggage. However, his outlet for that anger is beautiful. I love the concept behind "Slim Shady" and what that character represents. I personally believe we all have a little SS in us, to some degree. What I appreciate most about him is he makes no apologies about what he says or does. He basically says, "this is who I am" and I respect that. His real personality is more reserved, I believe, than Slim. It's such a brilliant idea to have an alter ego who is able to convey the things you might say in your head when your ticked off, or things you just feel like saying to tick people off.
