Post 'em here!

I hate 80's pop music.

I think the 50's through the 70's was the best time EVER for rock 'n' roll!

Good thread idea, Lizzy! I LOVE Jacqueline DuPré; her recording of Saint-Saêns Concerto in A-minor is especially brilliant!

The 80s was full of cheesy pop but that's not a bad thing.

I agree Liz. I've been saying that exact same thing for a while now.

"Incestiside" by Nirvana is a really great album. That reminds me... I need to pick up some of their sheet music...

Ever go through periods where you really love a particular group/singer and play all of their songs to death before finally getting tired of them? I seem to do that all the time. Except with the Beatles.

The 80's wasn't great. It had some good music. The 70's pop just plain sucked.
I grew up during both and the 70's were bad.Who would you rather listen to..The Cars,Cyndi Lauper & The J.Geils Band or The Carpenters,Star Light Vocal Band & Debbi Boone?

I love early 90s music- Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Babes in Toyland, L7, Gumball, the Melvins, Dinosaur Jr., tool, etc. It's too bad that it was completely drowned out by lopsided labels and misinterpretations. Chris Cornell, Maynard James Keenan, and Jerry Cantrell are a few of the fellas still running strong in their own right. Very creative group of people.

"Mr Blue Skies" by ELO sounds like a psychedelic-era Beatles song.

What if Brian Wilson hooked up the Beatles for one album?

What great harmonies and melodies would emerge.

My mom tries to get me into classical music, but she ends up turning me off by playing certain songs by certain composers over and over and over again until I get positively sick of them.
