Oh and I have a weird affection for "Poor House" because I have a tape of a bunch of us, relatively drunk, singing it late night at Beatlefest like 10 years ago and we sound GREAT, I must say. LOL
I go back so far, I'm in front of me...

I dig that song so much. I agree, it maybe has to grow on you, but like Clapton said..."let it grow".

I love the rough hoarse voice of gotta love Bob...and so well combined to his voice are the amazing chorus vocals and that guitar and also Jeff Lynne's work on the keyboard which sound a bit like what John created on Pepper in the song about the Hendersons who would all be there. That carrousel sound.

Fantastic song. Not my favorite, but a golden one.
