Default Hard...easy? Easy....hard?

What are some songs that you thought would be hard to play, but ended up being pretty easy? And what were some songs that you thought would be easy that were hard? I'm constantly surprised when I try to play songs that they're not always what I would expect! (Oh, and what instrument do you play?)

I play bass and the two I thought would be hard, but are so so so easy are "Taxman" and "Come Together". Once you learn the basic pattern, they're a piece of cake and people who don't play are SO impressed with them!

Songs that are harder than I thought they might be are "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "Something"....I'm in the process of learning "Something" now and it's killing me...the bass is so fluid and adds so much to that song that I never really noticed until I started trying (and failing) to play it myself.

i love the way Blackbird sounds on record. It's so beautiful and melodic. But to play it is another thing entirely. i play guitar.

I play many instruments, but on my guitar, Julia was harder than I thought it would be (Only because it takes 15 fingers which I don't have to stretch through some of those chords) and Dear Prudence was rather easy, once I got the picking style down. It's my favorite song to play. Blackbird was easier than I thought. Yeah, not much to it, but a gorgeous song.

Yeah, when we learned "Julia" a few months ago, all the guitarists were wishing for a couple of extra fingers!

Another that's easier than I would have thought is "Get Back". Not that I thought it'd be particularly hard, but it's SUPER easy.

That's an interesting observation Rellevart. One that certainly is different than it sounds is Good Day Sunshine. Haven't even touched it yet, since it is off of one of their better albums. Looking at some of those bass lines makes me dizzy i must admit.

That Nirvana song, "Aneurysm" started out kinda difficult on bass guitar, just to get the rhythm down, but once you get it; it sounds great.
