'A Hard Day’s Night' reissued on DVD/BR in the US
The Super Deluxe Edition website (in the UK) have confirmed the US reissue of 'A Hard Day’s Night' on blu-ray and DVD on 24th June 2014.
This new edition features a 4K digital film restoration approved by director Richard Lester and of particular interest to music fans is the fact that it comes with two soundtrack options: mono and a new 5.1 surround soundtrack created by Apple Records, both of which are in uncompressed DTS-HD Master Audio on the blu-ray.
The release is full of bonus content and extras, many of which are exclusive to the 'dual format' edition (basically the blu-ray version which comes with a DVD) so that’s the one to go for.
The bad news for fans outside the US is that Criterion discs are always region locked to North America, so you need to ensure you have a multi-region player to enjoy the spoils.
More details including a list oif extras and pre-order links can be found here:

4K? I was gonna say, I already own the Blu Ray for over a year now, but this should be better, I guess. But I only paid $4.99 on a Boxing Day sale.
I did just hear on the radio this morning that they will be palying A Hard Day's Night at select theaters this year since it is the 50th anny!

Sounds good! Now that I have a Blu-Ray player I can pay attention to this sort of thing. I hope when it comes to theaters, it comes to one near me

Currently priced at a very reasonable £14 - a full £6 cheaper than it was yesterday!

The film is being shown in selected cinemas across the US from Friday 4th July onwards, and a list of participating cinemas can be found here:

Thanks for the info! Turner Classic Movies (TCM) showed the film Tuesday night. They just added it to their collection of classics. I can't get over how laugh out loud funny it is.
Cheers!

I watched the original DVD the other day because I'd not seen it for ages.
Still a good film but not sure I'll be shelling out for the BR discs.

Around the world in 'A Hard Days Night': blu-ray cover variations!
The world’s designers continue to wrestle with the problem of how the new 50th Anniversary blu-ray of The Beatles’ 'A Hard Day’s Night' will look in their area of the world, so we thought we’d take a look at some of the different designs.

Exactly. I got the Blu Ray at a boxing week sale for $4.99 a few years back, watched it then and won't get around to watching it again for awhile, I'm sure.
So I definately won't be rushing out to buy another cash cow copy!
But hey, if you don't own a copy and haven't seen it in awhile, you can't go wrong!

Would just like to point out the official acronym for blu-ray is BD ( Blu-ray Disc) as opposed to BR.

I wouldn't call it a cash cow at all, especially not compared to some other things such as the Japan or US albums box sets. The picture has been fully remastered with the latest 4K technology (there IS a difference between this and the first blu-ray), and has a stack of special features not found elsewhere before. Additionally, the original blu-ray was only available in a handful of countries, so this release is the first time it has been released in high-def in most regions.

I wasn't using the "official acronym" though, as I always refer to Blu- Ray discs as BR.

Just FYI, Barnes and Noble is having its semi-annual Criterion 50% sale, so you can get AHDN for $19.99 + tax + shipping, and pick up some other Criterion titles that suit your fancy. This is always the best deal on them.
