Why The Beatles?

What was/is it about The Beatles that made/makes you like them? What are your individual and deep personal perceptions on how and why they, above any other, have effected you?

I think the beatlemania isn't so "deep". They have something in their songs that it is weird.

When you listen their music you just enter to a maze of melodies and awesome lyrics.

Other world far away from the ordinary.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I feel the same way when I listen to their music. And when I want great melodies and hard rock, I listen to The Who or even the White album.

Well, I became a fan back in 1964, and back then the reason, I think, was that the Beatles were new, exotic, infectious, and all ours...they were something that made our parents scratch their heads in wonderment; they could not figure out what it was that made us love these four strange-looking foriegn boys or how it was that the four of them were taking the entire world by storm, capturing the hearts and minds of every kid who was exposed to them. Then A Hard Day's Night came out, and we saw our heroes larger than life, usually on a drive-in screen, and we found out that the Beatles were more than great music, more than great looks--they were great fun as well, and they seemed to have no inhibitions about acting like kids themselves. I was hooked for life.

I don't really know why. My dad had a tape in his car with songs from 1967-70. "Hey Jude" was my favourite and I enjoyed singing along to it. As I got older(or is that grew up) I began to read books about them and I realised there was a whole raft of songs that I hadn't even heard of, let alone listened to. So when I had the money I would buy a CD here, there and everywhere(I had to get that one in). I listened and I realised that these guys were/are magic. Two years ago I only had 1 Beatles album(Sgt.Pepper), now I have all but 3(Please Please Me, With The Beatles and Beatles for Sale). I also started to get into John's solo career big time. They are fantastic and most songs sound great when you listen to them. When you don't listen to a song for ages and then come back to it, it sounds even better. The group always did great even when they were falling apart.(White Album)

Becouse they are the Beatles, for that

From the first time I laid eyes on them I was in
love! (I was 8) Why? Because they were so upbeat,
so funny, I thought they were cute, & they gave
off such a positive vibe. Also I loved their
music! I could never understand why people would
scream. Of course, I was only 8 & my hormones
hadn't kicked in yet! lol!
As far as how & why they've affected me, they've
brought me countless moments of happiness through
their music...because I've loved them for almost
40 years...they were & always will be, the BEST.
