Cool
I'm still on the search for when Cynthia was there. I've seen pictures of them coming back from Spain but not there. I also seen Ringo there but not Maureen...maybe they were too busy shopping at a nearby village?

Ooh, thanks for the pics! I seem to have a knack for not finding pics from HIWTW. I haven't seen any of Maureen either...but I haven't seen any of Ringo either, so I don't know how much that's saying. On the topic of the movie, has anyone else seen the part in the Anthology? (It's the only part i've seen, i think it's the 6th side.) It's so funny! I'm still not entirely sure what is going on there, but he's not exactly a four-star actor, and it's GREAT! aww!
Does anyone besides me hate the big deal posters/merchandise made about the whole "shorn beatle" thing? lol, they're more than just hair! *sigh* Okay I'm done now. kinda a longer post than I meant it to be.

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Nessa, I hope that you don't think that just because I said I really liked that pictue of John or thought he was a beautiful man, that I am one of those who only "likes him because he's hot." I agree with what Kate said too, back in the day, too much was made of the Beatles' hair and appearance than was necessary, and far too many people neglected to realize that they (especially John) were intelligent and talented, or that there was much more to them than the way they looked. One just has to watch some of the press conference or interview footage from the Beatles' early days to see how frequently they were talked to like they were somehow simple or sub-intelligent! (In fact, there is a press conference included in the video/DVD called "The Beatles Unauthorized" in which fans are given a chance to ask questions of the Beatles, and it is amazing how they come up with far more interesting and intelligent questions than most of the so-called press corps!)

Unfortunately, that was also a time when rock and roll musicians were not taken very seriously, and even by 1966, to a lot of mainstream journalists it was a very big deal that John's hair was cut, and to heck with anything else about him. Thank goodness there were some who realized that was really NOT the point of the story!

Anyway, as far as I am concerned, John Lennon was not only quite easy on the eyes, but one of the very many extremely attractive things about him was the fact that he was so intelligent. Brains are sexy -- it just so happens that John's brilliance was also housed in a pretty great-looking container!

Amen, Susan! Don't worry, I am well aware that you appreciate a lot more about John than the package he came in. The nice body, gorgeous hair, and handsome face were only the shell that this incredible man inhabited, as you pointed out in a different thread on this very forum.
John was my friend and he was the most charming, bright, and entertaining man I have ever known. There was a lot more to him than his looks, a fact that I know you appreciate very well.
