My, haven't we drifted from Hayley Mills? She's such a lovely person, too.

Toy, the experiences you relay are heartbreaking. I'm very sorry you went through so much. I'm not sure what any of us can really do for you? I hope sharing your story was cathartic and helpful. At least you can walk away from this experience with the concern from peanut, BB, 28, and I - all of whom were raised Catholic. See, you have officially met four nice Catholics. You're well on your way to a crowd.

Let's scoot along and get back to discussing Haley. I'm not one to discourage religious discussion, in fact I find it fascinating. The proper forum, though, is "Here, There, and Everywhere." It's okay to get off topic, but this is page three of the Catholic vs NonCatholic ... perhaps if you begin a topic in HTE, you will also get more input from others.

As for George.... no one can speak for his intentions, what he was, how he defined himself- except Olivia or Dhani, really. He did have a statue of the Sacred Heart in his grotto. The Sacred Heart has it's origin in Catholic mysticism, a Roman Catholic nun, Marguerite Marie Alacoque. Also, there are various good references from George about Catholics, such as a discussion George had with his mother when the Beatles were supposed to be booked to play for the pope. I'm fairly certain George had his appreciations and criticisms, both. The book Dark Horse, is from Geoffrey Giuliano. Grains of salt.

Anyway, back to Hayley, who is a sweetheart of a person.

Hayley Mills shares another religious matter with George (even aside from this thread)!

Hayley is a Krishna Devotee. She narates the above documentary. Her son, Crispian Mills [Kula Shaker] is also a devotee.

Or in one go...

How many of us knew THAT about Haley? I sure didn't. Great pic above as well. She looks to be enjoying herself for sure.

Here she is as a much older woman

She's still beautiful!!! Looks a bit like Carol Kane, who is also naturally gorgeous.

She reminds me of Aileen Quinn, who played Annie in the 1982 movie.

Now 40, Aileen is prettier than ever. I saw her picture on AOL news.

George Harrison was such a beautiful man! You can see Louise starring on his beautiful face with his fine French cheekbones; French nose and that mostly French smile!

And eyebrows. Don't forget his eyebrows. I like guys with dark eyebrows.

The nose, cheekbones, eyebrows, smile and everything about him... even the bits you never saw but only dreamt about, were most definitely English. Scouse even! :)

French ancestry. Pfffffft! Did George EVER refer to himself as French/English?

The only French in his was the kisses.

When Haley met George did she say "Let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah"?

You sound like Cloud!

George, son of Louise French did have Irish and French ancestry. Lou's dad, John French Sr., had French ancestry as French knights settled into Southern Ireland and were given the surname of Ffrench. John French Sr. and his siblings dropped the 2nd F. George was Anglo-Franco-Irish.

Nope, he was Scouse!!! :)

To this day, Scousers are a very distinct part of England, Englishmen (and women), culture, perhaps THE most distinct English accent, etc

But, if you love him even more in your mind by throwing the French in there, by all means, have at it dear!

Edit - there are of course many British posters here. I'm definitely an American Beatles fan... And probably oversimplified my talk relating to Merseyside above. No offense intended!

Followed by "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You."

Paul probably sang "She Loves You, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" in the background.

George was Franco-Anglo-Irish and since the boy was born in Liverpool, that makes him a Scouse of Distinction!

Secondly, The Vatican officially PRAISES The Beatles. They would have done so LOOOONG ago, but the NEW editor of L'Osservatore Romano, Giovanni Maria Vian has been publishing stories about music, culture, etc.

"what would pop music be like without The Beatles?" I'd love for you to name another performer(s) who has praised in the same manner by THE POLE's newspaper. The article later praised the White Album as a "magical musical anthology." Cardinals in flowing robes jamming to Helter Skelter! I love it!!

The "we're bigger than Jesus" remark was chalked up by the paper as "showing off, bragging"... By a "working class musician"... "who grew up in the age of rock and roll"... "enjoying unexpected success."

The American press took John's statement grossly out of context, even getting the quote wrong. There is more than a bit of incredulity in Johns voice when he makes the statement (and the other sentences surrounding it). Congrats to the English and the rest of Europe for LISTENING and not freaking out.

Bottom line is you conveniently cherry picked parts of the article that suited you.
I know all about Mark David Chapman and just because he has an obession with that book, doesn't make the book invalid.

and yes, the pope did condem the Beatles and the current pope just forgave them last year. Ringo said, "Doesn't the pope have more important things to talk about then the Beatles? DIdn't he say we were Satanic?"

Paul was silent on the issue.

John and Jesus? Don't get me started there...John had a very good point to make. Shows my point again.

Hayley and George looked so cute together.

George really resembled Louise.

I wonder if that adorable Beatle saw "The Parent Trap" (1961) and 1960's "Pollyanna." George didn't eat steak or use crutches, the adorable boy!
