Default Angela / JJ / People

After scouting Bootlegzone for info on versions of John Lennon's Angela from the Some Time In New York City album, I learned a few things but got more confused as well. How many versions, excluding officially released, is there of this song? Here's the data. I'm rather skeptical these are all different versions but since Whatever Gets You... has like 34 takes anything's possible:

People

(Undetermined) - John Lennon: Studio Tracks Vol. 3
(Undetermined) - John Lennon: The Lost Lennon Tapes (Vinyl) Vol. 15
(Undetermined) - John Lennon: The Alternate Sometime In New York City (no luck finding a download for this boot)
Acoustic Demo - John Lennon: The Lost Sleepy Blind Lemon Lennon Album (this one)
Demo - John Lennon: The Complete Lost Lennon Tapes Vol. 9 & 10 (CD1)
Demo - Acoustic (Nov 1971) - John Lennon: Unplugged
Demo - Acoustic (Nov 1971) - John Lennon: Lost Lennon Tapes Broadcast #185&186 (CD2)
Demo - Acoustic (Nov 1971) - John Lennon: Lost Lennon Tapes Broadcast #064&065 (CD2)
Home Recording (1971) - John Lennon: 1971 Home Recordings

J.J./People

(Undetermined) - John Lennon: Unplugged
Demo - Acustic (1971) - John Lennon: Acoustic Masterpieces

Angela

(Undetermined) - John Lennon: (The Alternate) Sometime In New York City
(Undetermined) - John Lennon: Lost Lennon Tapes Broadcast #064&065 (CD2)
Acoustic Demo - ("People") (1971) - John Lennon: (The Alternate) Sometime In New York City

Any information is gratefully accepted!

Well Hib, you'll be flattered to know that I have spent the last hour + 1/2 trying to find the "Angela" stuff and that Pear Records "Alternate". Closest I've found from the STINYC is one that has a bunch of 'Luck Of The Irish' outtakes on it: http://losslegs.blogspot.com/2011/05...york-city.html but that's about it.

You know, if you take the anagram of the acronym STINYC it spells STINCY which is like STINKY which is by and large what STINYC is anyways..

ONE AND A HALF HOURS!!! I'm totally impressed! Immensely flattered!

I hoped to find a Luck of the Irish version without _ but there doesn't appears to be one. That's when I tried to find the Alternate Stinky but drew a blank as well. Seems nobody's made it available as download, at least not yet. Do we blame them?

It is a call to arms, fair Hib, do not despair. I shall dig further and chances are that Serena will have it, but I will continue this endeavor tomorrow as I am fading fast this evening...

I'm sure there aren't that many versions. Most of these are the same on the different bootlegs. Acoustic Masterpieces, the bootleg that I have, for example is the same as Unplugged, which I don't have because it's the same as the version I got. The demo that's on there might even be the same version as what's on some of the other bootlegs. Let's see what else I have.

I might go as far as to say that there is only one demo for "People" that has made it onto bootlegs. The same version was aired twice on the Lost Lennon Tapes tho it was more complete on its second airing. But the same demo nevertheless.

There's not quite as many renditions as it may seem. Many of those are recycled and redistributed with perhaps some slight sound quality difference or time, which may cause it to be thrown off into an 'unidentified' labeling.

I don't have The Alternate Sometime in New York City in particular as requested, but the tracks used can be easily found on other various boots. Take 1 of 'J.J/People' is whats used on this, found on other easily attainable boots as already mentioned above.

Here's The Lost Lennon Collection (vinyl) Vol. 15 which contains the extended version of take 1 in lossless.

Leave it to the masters. Legs and Serena know more about bootlegs than anyone I ''know''. My first thoughts were what Serena said--that there probably aren't a ton of different versions, just alot of recycled. I am still going to try to find the Alternate STINKY. I found some older dead links but that won't do much good would it?

Thanks, Legs. I knew you knew! I might go as far as say that if you didn't know I don't know who would know.

Thanks, Serena! If you don't have the Alternate then I know it must be really hard to find.

So I see. I think I go back to the 34 takes of Whatever... At least I used to like that song.

I had opportunities in the past to obtain it, but wasn't all that interested since much of what is on it, I have on other discs. I can compile as much of it as you wish...

Thanks, Serena. You're a sweetheart to offer.

Right now I was only interested in what version of Angela/People was on the Alternate. Since it seems to just be the one demo anyway you've already answered my question so please don't go to all that trouble for me. But thanks again for the offer!
