NYC: Paul McCartney Autograph Signing
PAUL McCARTNEY CELEBRATES RELEASE OF NEW CONCERT DVD AND CLASSICAL CD WITH NEW YORK CITY SIGNING
WHO: PAUL McCARTNEY
WHAT: IN-STORE AUTOGRAPHY SIGNING
WHERE: VIRGIN MEGASTORE – TIMES SQUARE
1540 Broadway, New York, NY 10036
WHEN: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, 12:00-2:00PM
PAUL McCARTNEY’S ECCE COR MEUM (BEHOLD MY HEART) (EMI CLASSICS)
Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart) is Paul’s fourth classical album since his first in 1991. The album has been more than eight years in the making and its origins follow in the historic tradition of composers that have been commissioned to write music for the world-renowned Magdalen College Oxford. Paul was specially invited by Anthony Smith (President of Magdalen College 1998 – 2005) to compose something to set the seal on a new concert hall for the college. His hope was for ‘a choral piece which could be sung by young people the world over, in the same way that Handel’s Messiah is’. Ecce Cor Meum was released on September 26th, with a subsequent ‘limited edition’ version released on October 17th. The U.S. Premiere performance is at Carnegie Hall on November 14th.
‘PAUL McCARTNEY: THE SPACE WITHIN US’ DVD (A&E Home Video)
The Paul McCartney: The Space Within US is a two-hour epic concert experience of never-before released performance footage from 2005 ‘US’ Tour. The feature-length concert film delivers live performances of more than two dozen Beatles, Wings and McCartney solo classics spanning. It includes footage from Paul’s wake-up call to the international space station, as well as 35 minutes of exclusive bonus material and new interviews with McCartney and his band, a pre-concert film, footage from sound-checks, and more.

Since you seem to be in charge of publicity, how about some reviews copies of the CD & DVD for the webmaster of the forum. Hint, hint...

I'd love to go there, but I'd rather not wait in line from Saturday until then.
But I might try to zoom up there after my 10 o'clock class.

MAN! My job is 4 blocks away, yet I won't be able to go since I'll be working...Anyway you'd probably have to wait on line overnight (or even longer) to get in.I did that last year when he was signing at the Barnes and Noble, stood out all night, but they cut off the line 5 people ahead of me....:/

Paul McCartney, signing copies of The Space Within Us.
11/13/06 Noon at the Virgin Megastore – Times Square. New York, NY. Wristbands will be handed out starting at 8:00 AM.
-Looks like it's going to be a campout. Last year they only let 125 people into the store for the signing. Good luck out there.

Do you guys think if I go there at noonish, I'll be able to catch a glimpse of him? Unbelievably, I did not know about this and my equally obsessed friend wouldn't be able to go anyway. But do you think they would let people come in and gawk at him who weren't in the line?

For some reason I highly doubt that they'd let you. I mean they are gonna have a pretty large crowd anyway, so if you don't have a wristband they're not gonna let you in the store. I have a meeting with my falcuty advisor at noon so I know I can't go.

Well I guess I was a little curious and I went up there anyway, but when I got there they were out of wristbands, and seeing the line both inside and outside, I decided not to. But I did get a glance of Paul himself, although it was an awkward one, on the esculator looking under the other esculator.

I went too! Hurried over by myself in between classes.. he was signing on the lowest level, which was barricaded off, and a big crowd was standing on the next level up, right in front of the escalators. You couldn't see him from there, though (but I guess people thought he would come up that way, and I don't know if he did later)- really the only place you could see him from was the escalators from the top floor, so people- myself included- were riding them up and down just to see him and take pictures. However from-a-moving-escalator it was, I am still AMAZED and in disbelief at the fact that I saw him!!! I have mini seizures whenever I think about it (they're becoming a little worrisome). Anyway, I hope everyone who goes to his London signing has fun!
