Default Try Some Buy Some

I recently came across a poster of the Beatles advertising a product. I hadn't seen the poster since the sixties. To be honest I was wondering if I hadn't imagined the whole thing.

What are the Beatles advertising on the poster and who commissioned it?

An official advertisement?

I'll go with the Lybro Jeans campaign. I don't know who commissioned it. The name of the photographer is Richard Cooper so I'll make that my guess.

No not Lybro jeans or Puritan Fashions shirts.

Didn't know the Beatles were puritans!

Oh dear... Winston O'Boogie, you just made a double post so you're disqualified for the rest of this question.

Your ideas may however help others to find the right answer...

So then no multiple posts of different items until one is proven wrong?

Yes indeed. And no multiple answers in the same post.

Additional clue for the other players : We're looking for something you eat but not of any particular make.

And to get back to the question.

We're actually looking for a fruit.

The Beatles were on a poster advertising the benefits of eating apples.

http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/10385/lot/241/

It was commissioned by the National Health Service.

Yes indeed. The apple was the Beatles' favourite fruit long before Apple arrived.

Some say it was commissioned by the Dental Health Council but that was probably part of the National Health Service anyway, so I have no reason to refuse your answer.
