Talking John, the talkative Beatle

Yeah, I love all the chatter from John too It always sounds so natural and on the spour of the moment. I think there is quite a lot of similiar stuff on internet, especially taken from the "Double Fantasy"-sessions. I will look if I find some more...

You earned some major points in my book, Snoops, with this one. I can almost forgive you for your blind and disgustingly rabid infatuation with Cynthia Lennon.

Uhhh...nope. Not quite. But still, AWESOME video.

Thank's Fly, I honestly do appreciate your approval

I really hope to find more stuff like that, which other members like you may enjoy

By the way, I'm not that "blind" infatuated with Cyn, her lamentations get on my nerves sometimes too, but it's true that I feel sympathy for her

It seems to me that John was mostly "sick and tired" of singing that song. No wonder that he stumbles at the beginning and at the end forgets the lyrics...

The album-version has got a much more powerful voice; I guess John needed some sleep on this raw-version...

John and Yoko at the Frank Zappa show, Fillmore East, June of '71:

[Okay, I love ya Yoko... but really...shut the f*% up here! John sounded so great, and the band was jammin' nice and tight... she definitely ruined it, imho. ]

It's a shame indeed; you either have to be deaf or stoned to bear Yoko's screaming

In all honesty, I really like what Yoko does here...she fits in so well with what Frank Zappa was doing that she's nearly out-Zappa'ing Franky himself. Thing is, you gotta watch this clip with the audio from "Sometime in NYC" to really appreciate what a remarkable jam this actually was...as you can hear, the original audio from this is pretty God-awful, so if someone could mix the film with the infinitely better NYC audio I think a few opinions might actually change for the better.

These are kind of lame, but interesting to watch.

This next video is on Hulu, not You Tube... it comes from a 1980 SNL episode that John actually saw and thought was funny. (Whatever floats yer boat, John... ) Anyway, the Yoko accent just makes me go . Looks like Malcolm McDowell doing John... Click here.

Default Well, I'm impressed by John's fandom...

He actually was watching SNL in what I assume was late November 1980? I was a dorky teen who didn't have much of a social life at the time and even I didn't watch SNL that fall!

Thanks for the link to that skit, Maia. Ever since I heard John mention it in, I think, either the Peebles interview or the RKO interview, I'd kind of wanted to see it.

I guess I must not have been watching it either, because I would have remembered that skit... and I would've recognized the person doing Weekend Update. Who the #$@! was that??!

Here's my favorite version of this unbelievably rocking song. I think I want to add it to the Underappreciated list... Anyway, I think it's got a proto-punk sound to it the way John does it here. (This is the rehearsal take of what ended up on the Anthology.)

Default Can You Say "Doppelganger" in Spanish?

From a Mexican tv show, Soy tu doble (I'm Your Double). Pretty funny. After the performance, the drag queen tells the performer that s/he wants to be his Yoko Ono!

Default Lennon, Ono appear at peace rally in New York 40 years ago today (1972) - Video

I think this thread is the best place to post this video, of John and Yoko appearing at the
1972 peace rally.

^ Ooh, thanks! I'd never seen the end of that second video before.

Anyway... this isn't You Tube, but I just posted this video in the Act Naturally forum, but think it also belongs here because John is hilarious!!

Listen to the perfection of John's voice singing Imagine near the end of this video:

Terrible sound, but this is a cool interview from Mind Games days... right before Yoko gives him the boot:

Interesting stuff you've posted here, Maia

John looks amazing in the remastered archives, but I especially enjoyed the interview at the Record Plant (I admit I skipped Yoko's part ).

Too bad that the sound is terrible and so is John's haircut by the way Well, I'd would have boot John to the hairdresser, but not from home .

My favorite version of one of my favorite songs:

The whistling is extra-smooth... and I love when he comes back from it with "Oh, I didn't mean to hurt you..."
