This is indeed a beautiful version. Though John's voice sounds a bit fragile, it's even more emotional than the original. I love it too

It's pretty rare to find a vid with John's instrumental isolated. This one is really cool... his vocal and guitar on Revolution.

Here is a favorite John Lennon video of mine.
The band he was in at the time I think was a tight little quartet that seemed to have had some success.
Anyway, check the introduction that he gives this song and at the very beginning he thanks a bandmate for a previous song.
He was such a cutup.

Oh yes, I think I know which "little quartet" you mean; I might have heard about them before...

The intro by the "boss" of this little quartet is hilarious; that's soooo typical John

I like this one too:

I find it funny how Paul keeps bouncing and John stays absolutely cool, even when Paul at the end lets the confetti down on his head

"Quando paramucho!" ... I love the way John sings it! I'm attempting to learn Spanish at the moment and have just found new inspiration.

Mean Mr. Mustard is one of my fave songs. It's always great to know the stories behind them, especially from the horse's mouth (or in John's case, the thoroughbred stallion!).

Thanks for posting.

Thank's for your comment, Nowhere Anne

Unlike many other Beatles-fans, Abbey Road isn't my favourite album, but I do love "Mean Mr. Mustard" too

Great find, Snoopy!! Don't know who the kid is, though... I'd imagine it was the filmmaker's son.

Default Yoko Ono Lennon – Then and Now

A nice little doc about Yoko... well, it's about Yoko with and then without John, really. I don't recall seeing this on tv but I may well have... 1984 is such a long time ago now. (I was in college at the time not watching much tv that wasn't on Thursday nights! You old timers know what I'm talking about! )

Anyway, it's got lots of familiar clips, but sprinkled throughout you get some cool interior shots of the Dakota... and one of my favorite quotes about Yoko, which comes from Paul: "I think she's just herself. She's determined more than some other people to be herself."

Someone has posted the entire show of J & Y on David Frost, which was taped just after the John Sinclair Concert in December of '71. There's much more Yoko than John, so Yokophobes be warned.

For those who actually watch this vid, here is what I found most interesting:

1) John looks unbelievably cool. I really dig his look here... edgy cool.

2) John on the tea chest bass... awesomeness defined!!

3) The argument with the audience members. Those two remind me of Teabaggers (oops, I mean Tea Party members)... but I suppose it also shows the mindset that John was up against (and continues to be, with people who STILL don't get it). John's even temper throughout the whole thing and his grace and good humor are a tribute to what an amazing person he was.

4) David Frost's patronizing attitude with Yoko, especially when he takes issue with her feminist ideology. To disagree is very understandable, but the way he goes about it is extremely rude, I feel... after all, no matter how much he disagreed with her, Yoko was his guest, for crying out loud. A little graciousness is warranted.

If anyone here habla español, check out these vids. I Am the Walrus ("Yo soy la morsa") and Come Together ("Vamos juntos") with Spanish sub-titles. ¡Qué divertidos! I think the IATW translator did a much better job than the CT one, but these songs are so much fun to read in a language other than English.
