Question two questions about George and dogs

In the second Got My Mind Set On You video, there's a dog in George's chair before the song starts and I was wondering if that was George's dog, if anyone knows.

Also, does anybody even know if George had any dogs throughout his life?
Because I love seeing pictures of George with dogs, and nothings better to me than seeing George and dogs together, because I love dogs and George.

Thanks to anyone who knows!

I love George and dogs. There is an adorable picture of early moptopped George, cuddling a dachshund. I've seen pictures of George in 1987 with dogs on the grounds of Friar Park, but I am not sure the wavy haired wonder owned dogs, but I think he did.

Glad you asked. I like the idea of dog loving George.

my *guess* would be that it wasn't his dog. but i'm only basing that on a video called "Making of Got My Mind Set On You". the video starts out with a guy, not George, training the dog and playing with the dog and appears to be the dog's owner.
but that's really all my guess is based on.

Once when George was asked about dogs I read his reply was, "Dog is God spelled backwards..." so I assumed he did not like them? But then something makes me think the author of that info may have been the evil evil G.Giuliano, though now I'm not so sure?

I know George had many cats in Friar Park, one named Justig.

I love the pictures of George with animals. He seemed to really like them (well except for the horses in the Penny Lane vid- he just looked downright scared of them). I'm thinking he probably liked dogs, although I don't know if it was on the same level of Paul's love for animals.

Doxies are great. I groom several longhaired show doxies. Tenacious little creatures!

Me too, that's why I love him.

I've seen several pics of George with cats, but I think the pic ILUVHARI posted is the only one I've seen of him with a dog.

Thanks you guys, I've just been wondering. You're probably right that George was more of a cat person. But what about that little yorkie in one on the pictures where the Beatles are in a glass domb 1968-ish, they're with Martha, and John's next to the dogs. Is that Yorkie George's or who's? I thought I read somewhere that George had a Yorkie or wasn't that true.

There's another picture with George outside with a dog trying to get up to him, the dog sort of looks like an Australian Shepherd, and George has nice longish hair. Maybe that's Patti's dog. Well I just like that picture and wondered if it was George's too.

According to one of George's gardeners he had a Yorkie called Winston (after John). I guess that's him you see on the Brainwashed DVD running between George and Dave Stewart.

I'd love to know the answer. Just today someone asked me what George's dog's names were and I was...well, stumped!

that is an old statement made by dog lovers, there are no other animals devoted to you like a dog, a dog's love for his human friend is unconditional, (it is like God's love is unconditional), is what that statement is all about, dog fancier's all over know that quote, and it is not original to our George. I love dogs too, had cats for years, but I get a lot more love and joy with my dogs, I do still love cats though, all animals for that matter.

As a dog lover, I was impressed with what you said, Lover. I was never an avid cat lover - I like them okay, but I am a dog lover and have two dogs. Dogs are more interactive and I think they are more demonstrative and affectionate. I love just about all animals, but of domesticated pets, dogs are my first choice.

I agree wholeheartedly. George seem to have a healthy appreciation for all life, two or four legged. What really struck me was how all the Beatles seemed to have a fondness for animals. It's a lovely quality in humans.

(although my respect is greatest for horses, I like dogs and cats as well )

BB and 'Lover, I agree with you both. I'm an animal lover, and I love cats and dogs, but I prefer to have dogs. My little dog is like the love of my life, and I've had her for over half my life (since I was 4 - so almost 10 years).

Sorry guys, I was not implying George was a dog hater, lol. I had never heard that expression before and did not realize it meant something nice. Usually in the South, for example, when you say 'X.. is Y spelled backwards'...you are saying it is the opposite of Y. I guess in this case that is not how the expression is taken. That's okay with me, and I am glad to learn George loved dogs then, because I do. And George had a terrier, too, like me... though different kind... mine is a Boston Terrier. Cool.

I LOVE Bostons! They are so lovable. There is a Boston who lives across the street from me. Her name is Bailey and she was a mama dog. She has black teats; a sweet bulldog face and beautiful black and white markings. She will let you pet her and get all the Boston bulldog cuddles you want.

Hari's Chick, what is your Boston's name? There is a fairly large Boston who comes to the park down the street from where I live. Her name is Angel and she'll let you pick her up all you want and she'll lick your face up a storm. She also likes to be toted around in somebody's arms. She loves riding in her owner's pick up truck and she can run like an antelope. My dog loves her and play wrestles with her.
