Man, this sucks. I had the chance to meet him at the San Diego Beatle Fair in Oct. Unfortunately he was chased backstage by some aging groupie who'd seen better days before I had the chance to say "hello." Now I'll never get the chance. Thanks loads, old bleached blonde broad.

I think it's pretty amazing, though, that you at least saw him... and just months before his passing.
I have to say, I was pretty surprised to find out he was the same age as John and Ringo. I had always thought he was a few years older because of all the respect he had earned from the boys when they met him in Hamburg. I just saw the play Backbeat here in L.A. and one of the factual "fudgings" that they cop to in the program is that the boys actually loved and respected Tony... but in the play, it seems as though they feel he's an old-fashioned hack.
RIP, Tony... you seemed like one cool rock & roller.

He was a great man, really kind and warm-hearted. I had the chance to be at one of his concerts in Mexico back on 2006 and it was amazing. Can't believe he's gone now, may he rest in peace.

He will be missed, the influence this fella had on the lads was immense - I believe he gave George many guitar lessons between sets in Hamburg for example
