Beatle #1
Heres something I came across it seems that the only Beatle album according to Billboards American Chart Topping since Meet the Beatles in 1964 that made Album of the Year was in 2001 the Beatles #1 Album beating out Backstreet Boys , Shaggy ,Destiny's Child & N Sync !!! The Only other Beatles Album to come close was Beatles 1965 coming in at # 2 ,Sgt Pepper came in at only #10 for album of the year you can go read about this at there website which is

That's really cool. I thought that some of the albums would've been a little higher, but it's still pretty amazing. The dates seem kind of off tho, Abbey Road in 1970, White Album in '69. Thanks for putting that up!

it is amazing to me as a first generation fan how many people love them still. the music and the lads themselves i think make it so.i have heard rumors that the b sides to the number ones are due out that would be fun.hope it is so.beatles will be forever.

The Beatles certainly are amazing. Is there any doubt why they're the greatest band that ever existed? They'll always have fans all over the world, no matter how many years pass.

Billboard`s year-end chart lists during the 1960s were not based on actual sales figures, but on an inverse-points system.
If sales had been the determining factor in their compilation, "Meet The Beatles!" would have been the #1 album of 1964 with sales of over 4 million during that year in the US.
The same seems likely for "Sgt. Pepper" in 1967, yet I`m not sure how much the two huge Monkees albums of that year sold in `67.
In 1969, "Abbey Road" clearly was the best selling album of the year, even if it was released only in October.
In 1991, Billboard switched from using their flawed points-system to using actual sales figures which were provided by SoundScan.
