Beatle Party set list
This friday, I have been asked to play at a surprise party for my friend's sister (she will be 60!) and a huge Beatles fan.. gawd I hope she isnt on this forum!
Just me plus one other - on acoustic guitars... what would be an ideal set list? I need about 15 songs, up my sleeve - so where better to find the ideal list - than on B'links?
oh - there are four 'compulsory' songs:
YESTERDAY
I WILL
WE CAN WORK IT OUT
THINGS WE SAID TODAY
(another Macca girl...... but we (that is "I"...) need some john and george stuff too!
any suggestions?
Remember, we have to fill up about one hour....whole lists or individual song suggestions welcome.
I might even post the video of the event - if it works!

I think a Macca girl would probably enjoy
Blackbird
From Me to You
In My Life (which I think gains poignance as one ages)
Something

Since there will be two of you, I think "Two of Us" would be perfect!

Throw in "When I'm 64" to cheer her up a little.

I guess it's hard to tell if you don't know her taste. Can't your friend find out which songs she likes?

I recently received a recording of my uncle singing "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", accompanying himself with acoustic guitar. He's my favorite uncle, so hearing him say, "here's one for Jes" and then his singing a Beatles song was pretty special.

"I Feel Fine," "She Loves You" and "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You."
George's voice is very sexy on "Do You Want to Know a Secret," so we have to include that one as well.

Please Please Me is fun to play at parties because folks like to echo the "Come On, Come On" part.
Hey Jude is always good for audience participation too of course.

this post is useless without video
but you get points for performing that all-time classic singalong party favorite, "how do you sleep"
