Default Beatles Anthology

I will be getting the Anthology dvd set in the mail early next week! I haven't seen it since it aired on tv when I was a kid, so I don't remember much about it. I can't wait to finally see it again!

Tell me what you think about the dvd so that I can get more excited!

Well, there is a disc with extra features. How they made the video "Free As A Bird". The "Real Love" video. The compilation of the anthology and how they made the documentry. It's worth the money.

guitargirl, most of the concert scenes that were on the TV version, were cut off because of time restraints, but on the DVD they are in their entirety. Lots of great stuff on the DVD's. You'll enjoy!

Absolutely worth the money, Anthology is a great way to help your understanding of the Beatles as individuals and as a group!
Take the time to try and watch a couple of the the DVD's back to back if possible to get the full benefit! When I got mine I sat and watched as many as possible back to back over a couple of days, not that I'm obsessive or anything!

Happy watching guitargirl, I'll look forward to reading your post when you have seen them!

The DVD set is definitely worth every penny. The extras features are great, but even better, the whole DVD format makes the series much easier to access, which is really good. And the documentary is really, really excellent. Of course it's very airbrushed, uncritical, and missing important details (all of the Beatles' wives bar Yoko, and Stu Sutcliffe's death) but as a historical document, it's damn near perfect. Enjoy!

Yay! I can't wait! Does it have a lot of recording studio footage?

Not a lot of recording footage, some, more snippets of concert footage!

I just finished watching it last night, and wow, it was excellent. I'm still overwhelmed by the sheer amount of footage. The Shea stadium concert footage is the best thing I've ever seen - ever. The interviews are all very fascinating and insightful. I thought it was interesting to see the artists who influenced The Beatles, as well.

The part where George Martin played backed the demo of A Day In The Life seriously made me cry. It was beautiful.

I will definitley be watching this over and over. I can't believe I waited so long to buy it!
