I am not sure what Twitter and Twittering is.

Twitter is another one of the many social networking sites, whose focus is mainly to state (i think in 140 characters or less) "what yer doing now", which is called twittering or tweeting. The statement in the answer to the question "What are you doing now?" is also called a tweet.

Like with other social sites, you become friends with people (even some politicians and celebs) and 'follow their tweets'. I'm not really sure of the appeal, as I really dont have much interest in constantly knowing what everyone else is doing.

Kind of like facebook but with status update only.

I have a feeling I'll sign up one of these days if I'm bored out of my head and/or seriously procrastinating.

I know for writers, it's a good way to network with other writers, agents, and editors. On Friday, several agents took questions from writers and explained why some queries get an automatic rejection. Twitter also provided a place for people to discuss Amazon's recent deranking of books with gay/lesbian content.

well, today Barbara Walters was showing she was going to get on Twitter on the show/The View and gave away her contact name, along with 3 of the other hosts on air, wonder if they will have to change their contact names after Barbara giving all their contact names to millions watching the show??? I can't be bothered by social networking sites, so much going on in life, as it is

I'm getting used to it. I'm not totally enamored with twittering yet, but, I'm trying to get into it.

(And I think they should call them twits instead of tweets... lol...)

I joined up because a friend told me I must but I'm not into it. I just don't get what the big deal with it is. I think the thing is, I don't really care if someone is "on my way to work" or "having fun at the shops" or whatever....and obviously the people I follow are my friends so to follow people I don't know makes even less sense. I don't know where Stephen Fry finds the time to update his status the million or so times he does a day.

Perhaps I haven't given it enough of a chance but I don't like it.

I can't believe that so many people have this Twitter thing. I mean there can't be that many people leading lives that are that interesting. Anyone who has it can no longer complain about their privacy.
Dr Livingstone I presume?

I don't get what's so great about Twitter, I don't have one but know enough about it and have come to the conclusion it sounds really boring.

I will never use twitter because I have no purpose for it. I will stick to myspace and facebook instead.

I quite like Twitter - I've got one, but it's very easy to abuse it and share far too much. I use it has a place to post funny things and links really - I really try not to put anything too personal or completely irrelevant on it.

If you want to "follow" me, just send me a request -
