Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
I LOVE BRAINWASHED! I keep playing it over and over, and it just sounds better & better. I especially love Pices Fish, Any Road and Brainwashed - but I enjoy listening to ALL the songs! I agree with most of the previous reviews, so I won't go thru it song by song.
Brainwashed is a Wonderful Gift from George. Thank you, George!!!!

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
I finally got this album! I've only been able to listen to it once, but already it is one of my favorites! Like some people above said, it is very spiritually uplifting, and I don't even worship anything! My favorite songs were Any Road, P2 Vatican Blues, Stuck Inside a Cloud, Rocking Chair in Hawaii, and Brainwashed. I was worried that Jeff Lynne would overdo the production, but it sounds fine to me. There isn't really a bad song on here, but the one that I didn't really care for was Marwa Blues. Sorry Georgey. Anyway, that's it for my very short review!

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
I LOVE this album! Every single track is fantastic , really! I couldn't possibly choose a favorite, because they're all favorites. Since I got it on Nov. 19, I've been listening to it just about every day, and - if it's even possible - I love it more every time! This is really the best present ever - THANK YOU, GEORGE!
I am SO glad we got the opportunity to listen to this. It's so George and so great!

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
The feeling is well described.
A Spiritual album.
In a few ways;
a) because he is no longer in this world
b) because the combination of songs seem to have brought a sort of "goodbye, thanks and see you in this life or the next life" by George, the whole story of him offering some of the material he still has and leading Jeff and Dhani to how he would have wanted specially this album to be.
And leaving us with feelings of
"there is more to come",
"i'm not gone I'm still with you"
as also supported by what Dhani said about it. Holiday time.

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
I bought Brainwashed in late December and I loved it very much!My favourites are Any Road,Pisces Fish,Marwa Blues,Stuck Inside A Cloud,Run So Far,Brainwashed. The track I like best is Stuck Inside A Cloud(it brings tears to my eyes).
I thought in some of the tracks George`s voice sounded a bit like Dylan`s(60s).
The album really gave us 'plenty of that guitar'.
I wish many more people will buy this album for the album deserves it.

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
I also really LOVE this album.
My favorites are Any Road(love the driving beat of the banjulele), P2Vatican Blues, Pisces Fish, Looking For My Life, Never Get Over You(all those guitars intertwining), Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea, Rocking Chair in Hawaii(his smooth lazy sounding vocals & racy lyrics)and Stuck Inside a Cloud.
You CAN hear Jeff Lynne's production a BIT but it is not really that obtrusive. George himself does come shining through.
Now, if we could just get EVERYONE to buy this wonderful record!

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
We will start with the Brainwashed game, thing is that I have been discussing with Hari's Chick to change the name of the contest.
We both have some doubt about maintaining the word "Survivor", just something which came up thinking about George, so will replace that and start the contest later today or tomorrow, very anxious to experience this one.

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
Three days later we hit the final round.
Maybe some want to read the reviews before making the wrong choice.
This was very hard, those tracks all have their moments of quality, one more than the other.

Re: Brainwashed - the album - Beatlelinkers reviews
Hello everybody! I joined the Beatlelinks yesterday on the 9th. "Brainwashed" is really a good album (actually, I'm listening to it as I'm writing mo opinion), and my favorite(s) on the album is almost all, except "The Hawaiian... something..." and "Marwa Blues". "Can only run so far", somehow I seem that George had a crying voice there, as he dedicates this song to his Olivia

"Brainwashed in our childhood, braiwashed by the school, brainwashed by our teachers and brainwashed by their rules..."
That's true for us Students!
PEACE MAN! God bless yu, George, my Man!

Thanks, mate!
Yes, this song I always skip on my CD Player ; my favorite from the CD is the Title Track (the lyrics are so funny, but it's true!)
"George had Brainwashed me!"
