Default Love Songs

My friend and I were discussing "great love songs" today and we both decided that there aren't that many love songs written for men. All the ones we could think of were addressed at women. Any thoughts?

I know back in the 50's and early 60's there were a few love songs about Men. An example would be Johnny Angel. That's the only one I can think of right now, as well as Bobbys Girl. It is also late here right now. This makes it harder to think.

He's so Fine (doo lam doo lam doo lam) The Power of Love (cause I'm your laaadyyy/and you are my man) Leader of the Pack (vroom vrroom) To Sir With Love (by Lulu)

That's a good start so far, seeing as how I'm not love with any man

How about These Boots Were Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra maybe a more cynical song to a man.

Along with He's So Fine, I was thinking My Sweet Lord by George could be an intimate, spiritual song to the man upstairs.

We were trying to think of ones from all decades. I get kinda sick of all the older ones because that seems like all you hear.

Yeah I don't do country either. The only country song I even know the title is, "Save a horse ride a cowboy." But I don't think I would count that as a love song, lol.

Help me out here! I need love songs that can be used or sung by a woman. A classic love song or by a good band (including The Beatles in their solo careers as I don't know all of their work). Thank you in advance!

I know these are old but they were popular when I was younger so much younger than today...(lol)
Surround Me with Love (Charley McClain), How Do I Get You Alone (Heart?) Let's Give 'Em Something to Talk About (Bonnie Rait)...that's all that I am coming up with for now.

You know, when she first surfaced I thought she was another MTV flavor of the month and would often 'put down' her video's ("where's the ironies in "Ironic"? I asked amongst others), but something got through to me--a late forties male, well back then an early forties man. I remember buying Supposed Infatuation Junkie on cassette for the Thanksgiving trip to the in-laws hunting cabin (I don't hunt, just the father in law,it's their tradition to go there). I need to have some music to listen to during the night because there's no tv and everyone goes to bed around 9 pm (nowadays I thank God for my Dell DJ Junkebox), I'm not sure why--maybe another tradition. It isn't my fav Alanis album, but it kept me curious enoughn to buy the next one. I keep hearing some India influences in her music. I wonder if some of her songs are based on some ragas or other Indian music. If I were on an internet chat with her that's what I would ask.
So Called Chaos and Under Rug Swept are great albums! Even so, there are some songs I just haven't "gotten" yet, but I make compilation cd's of the songs I like and play them particularly when I'm not happy with myself. They can usually change my mood.
A while back she was on a show on the Bravo channel where they discussed her music and she played some songs on acoustic guitar, and just recently on itunes they have something called "itunes Original--Alanis Morissette" where she plays some re-recorded songs and discusses them in between. Something I wish George could've done.
None of this really belongs on this thread, I just feel chatty today.
