RIP Drake Levin (Paul Revere And The Raiders)
I don't have a link, but I just received word that former Paul Revere And The Raiders guitarist Drake Levin passed away yesterday, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 62.
Drake was the driving force behind hits such as "Kicks", "Hungry", and "Just Like Me". He was riding high with The Raiders, when he was drafted in the Spring of 1966, and joined the National Guard for the next year. With his duties to Uncle Sam complete, he briefly rejoined the Raiders by replacing his own successor, Jim "Harpo" Valley. However, this didn't last long, as Drake, Phil "Fang" Volk, and Mike "Smitty" Smith quit to form their own band known as The Brotherhood.
In recent years, Drake had his own guitar shop, and played countless gigs in the San Francisco Bay Area over the last 30 years, though he slowed down in the last couple of years due to his illness.
RIP Drake, you will be missed.

Yeah, I can play the guitar. I know all about virtuosos, and trembalos, and arpeggios. I can do it all! -Strong Bad
