R.I.A.A. News

The Capitol Box was certified by the R.I.A.A. as Gold and Platinum on December 17, 2004.

Thus this Box Set has become the Fabsters' 43rd Gold and 38th Platinum album.

Their all-time certified U.S. album sales now stand at 167.5 million (second is Elvis with 117.5 million).

This is equal to 83 multi platinum, 167 platinum or 334 gold awards.

And despite this HUGE popularity, they did some quite wonderful, and at times breathtakingly amazing, songs.

That is true. And all those Beatles fans that didn`t buy this Set can claim the same!

Now let`s randomly assume there are 1,000,000 Beatles fans in America. Of them, 250,000 bought the Capitol set. 750,000 did not buy it (you are one of them).

Everyone of these 750,000 fans can rightly claim that their not buying of this box did not affect the sales. But if you put all of them together,...

If all of them had bought this box, we`d now be celebrating sales of 4 million single CDs (or 1 million Box Sets), which is 4 times multi platinum, instead of just 1 million single CDs (or 250,000 Box Sets).

sorry but I have to draw the line somewhere.... There is still so much other stuff for me to get

I have to be selective too! Still, This is on my to buy list. I just haven't seen it yet. So I'm not sure how much it's going to cost me, so depending on that, I'm not quite sure exactly where on my list purchasing it will be.

But, I'll "get you in the end"

I didn't buy it either, and don't have any plans in the immediate future on buying it, unless there's some extreme sale or I get it for a gift or something. There's other things I'm currently hoping to save up for first. But it's nice to know the sales are still doing so well!

I can afford it--I can afford to buy a dozen if I wanted--but I didn't buy it. Capitol and The Beatles have to earn my money like every other business, and I found nothing about this box set that interested me. I have refrained from buying the singles box and the EP box and any of the compilations (Red, Blue, 1) for the same reason--I don't need them and I don't want to spend my son's inheritance on them.
