Beatles gear
My dad told me about this book I can't remember who it's by, but I saw it a Barnes and Noble and it's called Beatles Gear. It supposedly tells all about the different instruments and recording equipment that was used and I guess how they used them specifically. It's 40 bucks and hardback and I most certainly am going to get it soon.

Re: Beatles gear
It's been promoted on the Beatlebrunch radio show; they devoted a show to the Beatles' instruments. Haven't seen the book yet, though.

Re: Beatles gear
Let's all put in requisitions to to get one for Christmas.
We've all been good, sang our Beatle songs and shared with one another. I think we all deserve that book.

Re: Beatles gear
I have the book also and recently heard a brief interview with the author on the radio. He spent years of research on it, and told a great story about meeting up with Ringo in London to see his collection of drums to document it for the book. Andy Babiuk (the author)intended to "assemble" the drum kits as Ringo used them, but found them all scattered about in Ringo's storage area. Ringo was thrilled that someone was stepping forward to piece it all back together for him and let Andy have the run of the place. BTW, a word of caution if you buy the book through Backbeat Books(the publisher). The book is advertised as being signed by the author (via a sticker placed in the front cover) but mine came without it. I've gotten a month of runarounds before Backbeat finally confessed they'd run out of the autographs and were waiting on some more. Nevertheless, the book is a must have, especially if you're a musician (as I am).

Re: Beatles gear
I think Santa already recieved my wish list and called up his elves at Beatlefest catalog to order them, so I don't think Santa will be putting it under my tree. That is unless Mr. Claus undermines Mrs. Claus and buys it for me becasue he's the one who keeps talking about it.

Re: Beatles gear
I saw this book over Barnes & Noble earlier tonight, and snapped it up right away. Although I've just thumbed through it a couple of times (haven't had time to actually read the text, just yet), this book looks very impressive. Right now, I'm on page 170 because that is the guitar I've wanted, since I was 12.

Re: Beatles gear
I have to save up some money before I can go get it. It wasn't there when I went to go buy it so I spent it all on stuff from Beatlefest and Band on the run and Milk and Honey both special editions.

Re: Beatles gear
I agree with HeyBeatle! It's definitely worth the price of admission! Perhaps you can find a used copy!
