Default Party fun with The Beatles

This past weekend my wife and I hosted a small gathering of friends. One of the CD included in the shuffler was Past Masters Vol. 1. When the shuffle hit Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand, someone commented "I love this song". After the first verse I casually asked "What's wrong with this song?".

Everyone paused and listed for a few seconds, and all agreed that there was nothing out of the ordinary, it was The Beatles singing I Want to Hold Your Hand.

Even after I pointed out that they were singing in German it took some of them several seconds to confirm that fact.

It was a fun little "trick" and one that I will repeat with other groups of friends.

You should have done the same with, 'Sie Libht Dich'. I think that's the spelling.

I would have, had it come up in the shuffle. If I could only figure out a way to force certain tracks in shuffle mode it would make this game much easier.

I wish that the German songs were not on the album. I would have preferred that they had just the American versions, and used other songs in their place.

I agree. It wasn't really necessary to put the German versions on those records. It was a novelty that wasn't novel after the 1st listen.
