Default Giuliano and Seaman

Having followed quite a bit of the discussion in another Beatles forum,I have to say flat out that Fred Seaman was the source for the diaries that Giuliano used for Lennon In America.
I also feel that the Giuliano book should be boycotted in that I do not beleive anything from John's diaries should be published in any form at all.

I agree with you about the diaries. I have a book by Fred Seaman called The Last Days Of John Lennon or something like that. I remember it being very detailed quotes and other things. All I kept asking myself was, "How did this guy remember these exact quotes of Lennon & Ono?" The simple answer is that he made most of the stuff up. Pure garbage.
By the way, what other Beatles discussion forum are you talking about?

The forum this is in is the USENET forum rec.music.beatles . One of the topics is the alledged diary entry from 1979 in which Francie Schwartz wrote a letter to John saying she had a child with Paul.Francie Schwartz has denied she ever wrote such a letter.
Fred Seaman does post to the r.m.b. newsgroup, though a good number of his posts seem to go to the point of constantly insulting posters who question him on the diaries, and on his bizarre statements that Yoko may have been involved in the murder and that she tried to seduce Julian. He has also said that he did nothing wrong in stealing the diaries and that John had told him to take them to Julian(a story that is doubtful).
btw-Another frequent r.m.b. poster is Francie Schwartz.

I dunno, I have Seaman's book, and there is very little in it that disagrees with what a slew of other writers have said about John, or Yoko either.

You guys may be a little young, but as you get older, you start feeling your mortality - and John always did. I think it's quite plausible that he wanted Julian to have his diaries. In his diaries, I think he felt like he more adequately expressed his paternal feelings for his firstborn. It's quite usual to start wanting to mend fences as you age.

The whole story just makes me want to cry.

Had John wished for Julian to see these, there would have been a provision in John's will(which Fred also admitted to looking at prior to it being probated). I have always had doubts that John intended any but himself and possibly Yoko from ever seeing them.
