Default Beatlemania: the Real Story of the Beatles UK Tours 1963-65

Sorry if this already has a thread, could not find it.
Bought this on Kindle and really enjoying it. Even though I have read a zillion books about the Beatles, this one has new stuff for me...it is all about those tours they took before they went to USA but the steam was building, and full of quotes from and stories from Roy Orbison, Tommy Rowe, Chris Montez and others who they were meant to play "underneath" on the bill but (Beatles) ended up as headliners. Also lots of quotes and memories from fans and locals in the various towns, recalling the moment they first saw, heard, talked to a Beatle and how accessible and friendly the guys were in each place.

Chris Montez, in particular, was NOT willing to give up his star billing, and they could not force him, but he ended up practically doing strip-teases on stage in an attempt to match the reaction and enthusiasm given to the Beatles...needless to say, it did not work...Tommy Rowe took it more in stride, but hated the screaming, and Roy O. was a gentleman and willingly stepped aside but the fans loved him anyway. Poor Helen Shapiro took it well when she was knocked down off the top as she loved the Beatles from the start.

Anyway, just happy to find something that is not basically a repeat of every other Beatles-related book.

I am THE Beatle book addict, lol...
Have wasted time and money on the lousy ones, as I am afraid to miss anything. But have learned to sort out fact from BS. I wish there were more and more books all the time, but not sure there is more info out there. I will read anything Beatles, just hoping for one new fact to surface. That is why I enjoyed this book-it has some stuff that I had not read and you could tell it was true, since almost everything is quotes, sourced, etc...the writer did a lot of hard work and it shows.
