Thanks, GG!
Oh, and that "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" is not one I"m crazy about either! If I hear it, I change the station.

You know. When the lyric is "I" and the singer sings "I-eeeeee-I-wwwwwaaaaaahhhhheaaaaaahhhh-I" and goes up and down the scale a few hundred times, trilling fanatically. It's a very popular way to sing these days but it just drives me bonkers.

I HATE Madonna's version (of anything!) but especially Santa Baby. Talk about annoying. I'm a sucker for anything Christmas, but I agree they start playing carols way too early.

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" - Band Aid
I just find the sentiment so banal, trite, patronising and downright insulting.

Ooooh yeah! Which is why I like Dolly Parton's version of "I will Always Love You" better than Whitney's.
I really don't like "Baby It's Cold Outside". It's very creepy.

Amen, Sister!
I agree with others who dislike Springsteen's execrable rendition of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town." He sounds hoarse, like he's hollering this at you. I think his version belongs in the toilet.
I cannot stand "Christmas Shoes" and "The Little Boy Santa Claus Forgot." Talk about putting a lump of coal in your stocking and spoiling the festive mood of the holiday season! I hate these songs because they seem contrived, like whoever wrote them and/or sang them is trying to depress the heck out of you. What good is that supposed to accomplish?! Since when do God and Jesus, Mary and the Angels care what a person is wearing, dead or alive? Good grief!

Yeah. A little boy's mom is dying. But instead of spening time with her, he's wandering around a mall in hopes that a stranger takes pity on him and buys his mother shoes. So that she'll look nice when she meets God.
Call me crazy, but I doubt that God and Jesus will care that you are wearing Manalo Blaniks. Also I heard a rumor that people are buried without shoes.

It takes a long explanation to tell you why I would possibly hate a John Lennon song...!
Basically, there is a Brazilian version of "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" which is played every single bloody year! And the singer simply ruined the tune. My father, ever the joker, calls that version "the reindeer's suicide tune", so you can picture how tragic it is.
And once a friend of mine pointed out that "Do They Know It's Christmas?" made him want to cut his wrists. That awful, in spite of the good intention.

I'm not a huge fan of Xmas music, but I like the Springsteen version of SCICTT
(dodges blows to head); and the Beatles stuff, too, naturally.
