Re: worst music in history.....
I'm not a big fan of hip hop, modern R&B, and rap. For the most part I don't listen to anything done after about '83, but there's some new stuff that's alright.
I just have a problem with angry music. Anything where the singer is cussing someone out or going on about his/her sex life doesn't fall under my classification of "music." I find that the rap especially does this. This "music" makes me want to clean out my ears.

Re: worst music in history.....
I agree with Frk 100%.
Add to it that "angry music" is for me, as somebody posted on the Ashlee Simpson petition like "ninjas assaulting my ears."

Re: worst music in history.....
I just thought I would add that I wouldn’t listen to anything that you have to be 18 or older to buy... I mean really can the music be that good if they cuss every other word and all they sing about is death, violence, etc…

I've never been a Phil Collins fan.

Me neither. I find his voice is kind of annoying.

I dont like country or rap/hip-hop but really dont listen to today's music all that much. I dont have a favorite current band. I'll like a song that comes along once in awhile but i havent bought a whole album from somebody current in years...

Excuse me if I put some cotton wool in my ear
The music they play on the radio today ain't what I like to hear
It's all punk rock and heavy metal, reggae or worse
It's disco and pop, it's just got to stop, I tell thee it's a curse
Because hip-hop is the best, rap is the thing
I'm crazy for Jay-Z - bling, bling, bling
Hip-hop is the one, we all agree
So I'll hang with Wu-Tang and Notorious B.I.G
Hey, hey, hey don't forget about Dre...

I don't really care for hip hop/rap, techno/dance music, angry music (many of today's singers sound very similar to one another and they're awful!)today's "country" music (sounds too poppy to be considered country), heavy metal, most disco I can't stand (although there are a few disco songs I like and the Bee Gees were good, before disco and during), corporate rock crap like Journey, Boston, Kansas etc *shudder.* I love music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, but there are songs from those decades that I don't care for either. I can't stand "Last Date" by Frank J. and the Cavaliers (the Pearl Jam remake was no better), MacArthur Park, and many of Oldies that are played over and over again on the "regular" Oldies station. I'm getting tired of them. These people did more than just that one song you alway play!

I forgot to mention that I don't really care for Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, and the like or "boy bands". Yes, back then they had teen idols, and some of that stuff was okay and some of it was just plain awful. I do like some Partride Family songs, and one song by the Bay City Rollers (Saturday Night). Even some of them knew how play their own instruments (i.e. The Monkees, David Cassidy etc).

What the........
Hey, y'all. I tried to read this entire thread, maybe I missed it. Just this: isn't the worst music in history just a matter of opinion? Good topic, just a bit broad.

Actually, MT, Springsteen regularly donates to local food banks and charities for the less fortunate.
I don't want to start anything but that probably does more good than Bono traveling around the world telling us that we need to live in peace.

For what it's worth, Phil Collins is also an Oscar winner.
