Default Sgt Pepper, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane

Hi All!
First post here for me, Beatles fan since 1963.
As you all know the Beatles recorded Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane as the fisrt two songs for the Sgt Pepper album but they released them as a single instead.
What if they were on the Sgt Pepper album?
Where would you place the two songs?
I think I would put Strawberry Fields as the last cut on side one and Penny Lane as the fifth cut on side two just before (Reprise) and A Day In The Life.

But on second thought maybe Penny Lane should follow Within You Without and be the second cut on side two because then you could continue the horse trots and other sound effects that blend into (Reprise).

I saw a Sgt Pepper cd somewhere that actually had Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane on it, but they were just stuck at the end. Actually I'm not sure really where i'd put em, I never thought about it

I feel Strawberry Fields could go anywhere...I'd probably put it right after Lucy in the Sky. I have a hard time with Penny lane though...if anything I'd put it right after Mr. Kite or right after Lovely Rita. But I almost feel like it doesn't belong on Pepper as much... Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane are their own entity to me. :)

IMO--I don't think they fit the album at all.
IIRC--the original album (before Paul's idea of a mythical band that they would impersonate) was supposed to be a quasi-history of their own personal lives.
The SPLHCB that eventually appeared was diverted from the original concept--as other members lost interest in the idea.
That's what I recall. I might be totally in error.

I'd put "Penny Lane" before "Good Morning Good Morning".

Yeah I think that would work, between Lovely Rita and Good Morning Good Morning.
