Default George's songs.

Hello all,
I personally found George's later songs to be more spiritually uplifting. George was always my favorite for that reason. Even after the Beatles broke up he came out with some beautiful songs like My Sweet Lord; Isn't It a Pity; Beware of Darkness; All Things Must Pass; etc. George was a remarkable man. What do you think?

Malfunc, you are definitely in the right place. There are quite a few hardcore George fans around here. As for his Beatles stuff, I always loved his early songs as much as his later songs. Something, Here Comes The Sun, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps are classics, but If I Needed Someone, I Need You, and Love You To can move me just as much.

I hear you! There isn't a single George song that I don't like. Lately I've been obsessed with Old Brown Shoe. There's just something about that song that moves me...

"I Want to Tell You" is my favorite George song with the Beatles.

Yeah, we do have some hard core cutting edge George fans. What do you think of George's later works, from after 1976?

More great George songs with the Beatles - "Here Comes the Sun," which I think is one nonpareil song; "Taxman," "If I Needed Someone," "Love You Too," "Within You, Without You," "It's All Too Much" and that's just for starters!

In 1964, John said that he would never sing "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You." George ran away with it and made it his song. George sang that better IMHO than John ever could. It's one of my favorite songs.

I'm glad you folks mentioned "Old Brown Shoe" -- I've always thought this might be George's most underrated and overlooked song. What a great bassline on this track (actually George and Paul playing the same line on their respective instruments). And Ringo's drumming is terrific.

The slide guitar intro to "Blow Away" just sends shivers down my neck every time I hear it. Pure artistry.
