Default Information on future downloadable content.

An article on Kotaku.com (a fairly respectable gaming site) quotes Harmonix's John Drake discussing why it takes so long to put out new songs for The Beatles Rock Band and the possibility that there will be no more DLC after Rubber Soul's release in December.

I'll be really sad if we don't get Revolver and the White Album (disc 1 especially) on the game...

Nooooo, what about Revolver?? Or some of the songs from Past Masters? I really hope they do put out more DLC content.

Exclamation Update on this...

Just read a review of the new Abbey Road DLC by Steve Marinucci (The Beatles Examiner), who was given a demonstration of the DLC by a Harmonix representative. He says the following:
"We also had a chance to see "All You Need Is Love," currently available as a charity download only for Xbox 360...The song will eventually be available for the rest of the platforms when the "Magical Mystery Tour" album is released.

"No timetable is available for when any of the other albums beyond "Abbey Road", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (November, no date) and "Rubber Soul" (December, no date) would be made available for download.

"And the spokesman was quick to dispel stories like this one around the internet that future DLC content is dependent on sales of the CDs. The spokesman said it's just not true."

I hope this is the true story.

It is for Wii and XBox 360. It will be available for PS3 Thursday.

I've got a question about downloading. I don't have any kind of gaming system, though I play Beatles Rock Band at my friend's house, but I do want to eventually get a gaming system and the game for myself!

I don't know how the downloading works or how you do it, but if I do buy the game some time in the future, are these downloads going to remain available? Do these extra downloads ever expire? I fear that it will be years before I have my own...

The games, Beatles Rock Band included, have a menu specifically for download content and/or updates, so you just have to access it.

Since this content (for the Beatles game) is paid, I see no reason for not being avaliable in the next couple of years.
