Hello Mate: I have played the drums since the age of 4. My favorite drummer is no doubt Ringo and I have played and still play Beatle songs every chance I get.
quote:
Originally posted by ian:

I can play the following instruments:

Keyboard / Piano
Starting Bass Guitar
Basic Drums
Harmonica
Recorder

And I can sing really well. I sound just like John when I sing Twist and Shout because I can make my voice sound really harsh and throaty. I ruins my throat after the 5th time though.

I'd love to start a Beatles tribute band as I've been told that I look a little like John Lennon, althought I'm vastly overweight.

Does anyone want to join a Beatles tribute band? You must live close. Like, in Torbay in Torquay in Devon in UK.

People say I look like Paul, and I sing, and I sing Paul songs well. I don't have a clue how to play a bass guitar though, although I'm a competent 6-string guitarist. I want to get a band together again, maybe a tribute group, but Devon, I'm afraid, is about 17,000 miles away (in student miles).

Mr. Kat bears a striking resemblance to George, but he likes to think he looks more like John (and puhleeze don't ask him to sing!!!)

Has anyone seen the video, 'The Compleat Beatles'? There's a segment of George singing, 'If I Needed Someone'. He completely ruined his own song! He must have had a bit too much of the old whacky 'baccy backstage. He was gaunt, looked unhealthy and sung so flat an out of key. Mind you, the audience were screaming so loud that they probably didn't notice.

Hey Harb, I've got "The Compleat Beatles" video plus the companion books. Yes, George does sound a little flat, but you do have to account for the "primitive" recording equipment they had at the time. The screams do drown out quite a bit.

That would be a good idea, LenMc. Maybe even as a new feature on this site. I however, do not resemble any of the beatles. (Please do not ask why. )

By the way, when I sing Ringo songs people say I sound just like him! Pity I can't play drums and I don't look like him.

Actually, people have told me I sound like Ringo when I sing his songs, too. I guess I should be offended.
