Default Ray Davis

I am interested in songwriting, lyrics and tunes, and yes Lennon/McCartney are up there at the top but I do think one guy wrote many catchy songs and wrote some great lyrics.
Step forward Ray Davis of The Kinks writer of such hits as Lola and Waterloo Sunset, just 2 of many great songs. Which singer/sonwriter, composer do you think deserve a mention?

I very much like the works of Ray DaviEs.

I have his latest album - 2009 - where he performs 16 of his songs, yet with a choir, the Crouch End Festival Chorus.

It is getting used to but it does sound pretty cool

1. Postcard from London 2. Days 3. Waterloo Sunset 4. You Really Got Me 5. Victoria 6. See My Friends 7. Celluloid Heroes 8. Shangri-La 9. Working Man's Cafe 10. Village Green 11. Picture Book 12. Big Sky 13. Do You Remember Walter 14. Johnny Thunder 15. Village Green Preservation Society 16. All Day and All The Night
