The "rattle your jewelry" statement was at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London on Nov.4, 1963.

...in front of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, and there is a story that Epstein convinced John not to say "The people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, if you'd just rattle your F*CKING jewellery". God Save the Queen!

They played 4 songs that night: From Me To You, She Loves You, Till There Was You and Twist And Shout.

3 songs in high quality here

IF this story is true, I'm glad Brian had that much influence. That bit wouldn't have been the same with the F word in it.

The Queen wouldn't be smiling as we see in the video preview above...

No, the video tape 'The Compleat Beatles' used a few seconds of the Manchester show with audio of the 'rattle your jewellry' to illustrate the Royal variety Show. they also showed a few seconds of a 1965 concert in Texas and pretended it was the last show in San Fransico in 1966. The 1963 Manchester show was filmed in colour by British Pathe but only 'She Loves You' and part of 'Twist and Shout' were used. The rest of the show was junked, although a few shots of the audience show them mouthing the words to 'All My Loving' and 'Boys'.

What a terrible thing that the Manchester concert was junked, it is pretty good video, for way back then, Paul looks like he had been baking in the sun for a week........

Oh yes, their famous make-up! It's very obvious isn't it! They gave up wearing it soon, but not before they'd introduced the concept to Mick Jagger- and look where THAT led !
Yes, a real shame the rest of the footage was junked- how great would it have been to see 'I Saw Her Satnding There', 'This Boy', and 'Roll Over Beethoven' in such colour!!
