I would buy them even If the songs are all the same, I like to have all kind of "special edition" stuff... I dont have much, but I really like that stuff.

Default Capitol may issue boxed set of first four U.S. albums

http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/115...firstfour.html

A couple of people emailed us regarding a report in Beatlefan Extra! regarding the possible release of the first four U.S. albums on CD. We asked editor Bill King to give us the details and here's what he told us:

Yes, Beatlefan/EXTRA! #196 reported Capitol sources said that a boxed set of the "first four" American albums is planned, though an EMI Music Distribution source says it might not make it out for the anniversary in February. A Capitol source says the albums will be "remastered" but probably not "remixed."

Would be great if they did.

The U.S. versions differ enough from the U.K. ones to make them worth buying. I don't mean the songs you can get them on the U.K. albums, but the versions and mixes used back in the 60's.The so called Bond intro to help, "I'm Looking Through You" with the false starts, and others with clear and not so clear diferences.

Remasterd, yes, Remixed, no cause that would mean you don't get the original versions.
No use however if they use the normal cd versions of the songs, which we already have.
But judging from the article that isn't the case.

I wouldn't get to much hope that this would be released very soon, or at all, as everything related to Beatles releases you must have patience.

Thanks for the link.

I'd buy them--I grew up listening to the US albums before I finally had a job and could afford buying CDs. It would be great if they included the mixes that appeared on the US albums, but, alas, that probably won't happen...

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">I most likely will buy it anyway, but I don't see the point in releasing them with other mixes, or the normal U.K. ones. One of the reasons the U.S. albums were special were the different mixes, which hasn't been released on cd officially.

Releasing these mixes will give newer fans a chance to listen to them, without having to buy bootlegs.

The original mixes should be used, even the rechannelled "stereo" ones.

That's cool! I know a couple people who would love to see Capitol albums reissued on cd!

If the remastering is state of the art, I will get them.
And just when I got used to the British versions!

Just to clarify - the four albums will be Meet the Beatles, The Beatles Second Album, Something New, and Beatles '65, right? Or am I wrong to skip The Beatles Story?

Anyone know if there are any legalities preventing Capitol from using the Butcher Sleeve when they get around to packaging Yesterday and Today?

YES! I'd certainly buy the Capitol versions. As noted there's variation musically and song album (inclusion/exclusion) from the U.K. versions, esp. on the early ones. It's historically unique as well. The reasoning behind changing some of the songs slightly was to meet American tastes. (i.e. "Thank You Girl" sounds as though it is being sung in a tin can and more harmonica is added that's not on the U.K. version)
Difference enough for me!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">That's a good question. And also, will they be in mono and stereo? And what about vinyl releases? So many ways to spend money!
