Default Double Fantasy Stripped Down on Amazon

The frontcover of "Double Fantasy stripped down".
The cover of the normal single cd version of "Double Fantasy" remains the same as it ever was, this is just for the version that includes the stripped down cd.

Ah, but I think the only way to get the remastered original DF without buying the box is to buy this. If you look at number of discs it says 2. Therefore if you want to (re)buy all the remastered albums you'll have to get Sean's art on the cover for DF. However the original cover is included in the Signature box set.

I only bring this up cuz I know this is already pissing off some fans..

How's it going Legs? I hope all is well with you. As far as I'm concerned, I'm planning on purchasing every single LENNON boxset there is. I'm planning on buying the New Double fantasy 2-CD set album, I've heard good things about it. Have you heard the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) version of Double Fantasy? It sounds INCREDIBLE! You have to hear it to believe it. Take care.

So... following on from the Beatles remasters, now the solo remasters are also going to have those terrible vertical bars on the left-hand sides of the covers?

Aside from that, I really like that cover, to be honest.

That is quite a marketing strategy!

Here is the "Just Like Starting Over" version which seems to appear on the album

As much as I'm interested in this release, that honestly didn't do much for me. But then again I absolutely adore the original version.

I like the way the piano and guitar come out much clearer, give the song even more of a 1950's sound, maybe what John had in mind originally.

I also love this and all the other versions, yet thanks to Legs I have them all so there is only the improved sound, if it is.

Haven't got the MFSL version yet, but I've found and ordered a copy.
Will compare it to the new version and the remix. The MFSL does indeed seems to be the best version around.

I'm listening to it right now and am really impressed. I have to wonder if there is any NEW recording that went into it. Sounds a lot different than the 1980 version.

From what I have read, it is all original... the same masters just remixed without all the extra stuff. Right, experts?

Love, love, LOVE stripped-down Double Fantasy. You can really hear John's gorgeous voice.

No new recordings were made. The differences you hear are obviously most of the effects and overdubs are gone. There were also alternate takes used.

This is yet another gem. Thanks to Yoko for being money hungry enough* to have given us this release and for keeping John and his music alive for us..
