Default Dylan/Nelson/Mellencamp ~ Summer '09

Has anyone heard of any more news on Dylans U.S. summer tour with Willie Nelson & John Mellencamp? I know they'll focus on ballparks throughout the country. No dates have been announced yet but I'm sure they will be soon...But has anyone heard anything new????

Listening to the new album now (found it on Pirate Bay). On first listen its no where near his best but a welcome change in sound from his last two albums. Very heavy on accordian, but his vocals are some of his poorest performances. Just a first listen opinion.

I don't see any US tour dates on the official website (unless I'm missing something). Do any of you know if he's planning on making a few stops here (near New Jersey and New York preferably)?

Completely agree. I have often found myself listening to a complete Dylan record, even a gloomy one, but feeling a sense of...hope? He puts into words the emotions I can't seem to express myself, and for me that has always been what gets me about his music. I feel like someone out there finally understands my point of view and I don't have to express it anymore because it's all written right there in that song.

Ah I see, I hope he makes a stop here and I also hope I have a nice budget by that time.

A small venue show at the Roundhouse in London is about to kick off. Rumours of special guests, first plays of the new album and much more is flying around, knowing Bob is will just turn out to be a standard show. Still nothing from tomorrows new album has been played live.

Well, everyone that's reading this thread, I suppose. Now, come. Details please! What was you favorite number? Did he play some rarities? Any duds? Did he smile and have fun?

Well, the set list was as follows

1.Maggie's Farm 2.Don't Think Twice, It's All Right 3.'Til I Fell In Love With You 4.The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll 5.The Levee's Gonna Break 6.Workingman's Blues #2 7.Ballad Of Hollis Brown 8.Visions Of Johanna 9.Honest With Me 10.Every Grain Of Sand 11.Highway 61 Revisited 12.Ain't Talkin' 13.Thunder On The Mountain 14.Like A Rolling Stone 15.All Along The Watchtower 16.Spirit On The Water 17.Blowin' In The Wind

All the songs were great, no duds and unlike previous years most songs were pretty close to the original arrangements, even the vocal on Blowin In The Wind was similar even if the music wasnt. No real rarities, Every Grain Of Sand possibly.
The 5 songs he did from Modern Times enhanced the originals a lot, much more rocking!
Thunder on The Mountain, Rolling Stone and Watchtower is a great trio to dance to!!!

Sounds like an excellent setlist to me. (I'd probably be hoarse for days after singing along. ) Glad to hear you had such a good time!
