Well it's almost the 8th here so...Happy Birthday Becca!

Hope you enjoy a special day - perhaps indulge in a Cary movie or two, with some Beatle music to bop along with?

Enjoy!

Hello all! Thanks so much for the wonderful 25th b-day wishes! Really sweet of you to all care so much! Ahh... I love you guys! And my birthday thread had a CARY theme this year! Ah... I love that! Thank you girls (and, he's still mine, k?)!!!! I love ya!!!!

Anyway... here's a run-down of how it went:

March 2... my best friend (known him for 20 years), took me to a Beatles photo/memorabilia show. It was pretty cool. Not as huge an exhibit as I was expecting (especially after how it was billed), but, still, there was some cool stuff to look at. It was all this one guy's collection that he had on display there (at Mesa College). So, that was pretty nice. Some good photos to see (by many of the main photographers that worked with the lads), and some cool memorabiliia items. And, afterward, we went out for Chinese food, which always makes life groovy.

March3... was the big Beatles tribute band concert at the East County Center for the Performing Arts in El Cajon. The band was called Twist and Shout, and they're a German group. This was their first US performance, and their *ONLY* US performance. And it was in cruddy El Cajon that they chose to make their debut--only about 15 minutes from me (vs San Diego proper or LA or something...)--pretty cool! Anyway... we were in the 10th row, so we were *REALLY* close. Show opened with an Abba tribute band, which was good for what it was... I guess... Then the Beatle guys came on. It was an incredible evening, let me just say that first off! This band was just *AMAZING*. They were pretty good musically (though there were a few flubbed solos and such), but, the show that they put on was something else! They basically told the entire Beatles story through re-enactments of the major happenings, and with the use of "narrators" (like Brian Epstein and this jive english guy, etc...), to fill in the rest. And they also re-created all of the major performances and recording sessions in between acting out bits like the meeting with Brian at the Cavern, etc. They told the whole story on up through the break-up. It was great...just amazing and I greatly loved it! If they ever come back to the US (er... or if they're elsewhere in the world... being that this is an international board...), you guys should all go see them! I loved the show! (BTW, my older brother had seen them numerous times in Germany during the time that he spent there while he was in the service, and he would always call me from the concerts, and would let me listen over the phone. So, when he found out it was the same band, he was super stoked, and told me that I was going to love it, and he was *so* right!)

So... that was that... then, b-day night, went out to dinner with the family. Ended up going to Antonio's Hacienda (most amazing Mexican food I have ever had) which was about my 10th choice for a restaurant for the evening, but, still, it was a most incredible dining experience! Went back to the house after that, and did cake and prezzies. Got some fab albums (not all Beatley ones, though), and some books, Arsenic and Old Lace (starring my man, Cary Grant) on dvd, a few other dvds, and... dig it... Beatle earrings... from Russia (made and painted up like those little stacking dolls...) And... some other cool things that I can't recall at the mo', too. Haha. Oooh... yea... and my best friend, Meli (Melissa)--my "twin" in sooo many ways--got me a subscription to Netflix, and says that there's *still* more stuff on the way for me (maybe she's sending me Michael Bublé???) Too cool! And, oh gosh, I still have tons more b-daying to do! Best friend Jordy (same one that took me to the photo show) is taking me to see ***Michael Bublé!!!!*** (*sigh*) in concert on the 24th... and I still have to get together with my friend Erica and her mom to celebrate, and Dave (hi Dave!!!), etc... Anyway... it's a never ending "birthmark" this year! Happy joy!

So... yea... those were the fab happenings, and a basic run-down of all else. I've probably forgotten a bit, but, if anything earth-shatteringly amazing should come back to me, I'll be sure to share it with ya all!
