Default Cleaning 45\'s

I've got a Beach Boys 45 "Good Vibrations" and it's a cool song and when I want to listen to it it skips alot. Is there any way to clean it up? I don't have that song on CD.

Colin: That will barely cover the hair gel for the cast of friends.

What is causing the skip? If a defect in the disc nothing helps.
Try getting it on WinMX or other such.

The best way to clean a 45 is to get a bowl with a little warm water in it (with NO cleaning agents) slightly moisten a toilet tissue and wipe the vinyl, taking special care not to get any on the labels or they'll stain. This will bring your vinyl up a treat.

Sadly though, if the skipping is not caused by muck and by a scratch or scuff, there's nothing you can do

But wouldn't the lint from the TP get into the grooves? I use to use this cleaning device that was velvet covered.

There's tis kind of cloth you can get that's easy on your LPs or 45s and gets all of the gunk off, not sure what it is. I'll have to ask my dad. I'm always cleaning off my LPs at his house.

Hmmm... perhaps English tissue paper is different from American tissue paper. Another good thing to use would be a 100% cotton dust cloth that people use when they're polishing things. They won't scratch the surface or leave lint in the grooves.

check any place that sells eyeglasses for the soft cloths. If they're good enough not to take the UV coating off my glasses, they should be gentle enough for vinyl.

I have experience as a Disc Jockey for roughly 10 years in the vinyl years and I learned from professional DJ's to use cotton cloth and warm (not hot) water.

Let the water run smoothly from the crane on the record for some seconds, about 5 centimeters down the crane, then dry/clean it gently with the cloth clockwise along with the grooves, smoothly, like drying glasses.

I've done that since then and my 33 and 45 collection is in good shape.
