That undistorted image looks crazy! Like the Abbey Road outtakes with the band walking right to left, or the alternate takes of the Sgt Pepper cover.

Did you find that, make it?

Hmmmmmmmmm.....

I am not about to attempt to re-write history, or second-guess... but I actually like the undistorted image. All that space above them is kind'a nice. Very "open" and "airy".

I'm glad the cardboard fell backwards during the photo review with Bob Freeman, but had it not, I'd have been ok with it.

I think the distorted image looks better compared to the album title. "Rubber Soul" is written in kind of a curvy distorted style anyway.

ROCKIN!

I'm certainly guilty at times of being lazy.

Too much airy space imo on the non-distorted image. It might have worked if we had head and shoulder shots, instead of head shots, reducing the dead space above. In the real image, the curvature created by the distorted image matches the "Rubber Soul" lettering well of course. The curve created by the tops of their heads matching the underside of the lettering and all that.

I agree with you on that. They work well together the way it turned out. Without the distortion, the title is very lonely up there.... as it appears.

A different title treatment would have been necessary for non-distortion.

Btw... I just want to add.... I think their hair looked THE best n this late '65 era. LOL! So damn cool-looking.

I like it but not as much as the one that was used. Distortion all the way!

I think The White Album was just a little too white... I think it really should have been more of an "Alabaster Album"!
