Beatleweek 2004
Although it's probably still early for most of you, I'm starting to think that now would be a good time for me to make plans for Beatleweek 2004. I've never attended Beatleweek before and I live in Canada so I'm a little out of the loop.
I've been directed to www.cavern-liverpool.co.uk/beatleweek , and it seems that the Adelphi is already booked. I'm guessing that's due to the fact that most of the guests'll probably be put up there.
Anyways, I don't want to make hotel arrangements and then find that I can't get tickets to any of the shows - or even if you need tickets to all that's happening - so I was hoping that some of you could give me some advice or directions as to where I could send these inquiries.
Thanks very much.

Re: Beatleweek 2004
Don't worry, you can still buy packages at the other hotels which include tickets to all the events or you can buy the event tickets separately. I'm planning to go too and I haven't done a thing about it yet. I will PM you when I've started to do my research (after the holidays) and let you know what the status of things is. I went 3 years ago and had a BLAST, so I would highly recommend it. Plus some friends of mine are playing and they're really good. At least I think so.

Thanks Rellevart, as I said I've never been to Beatleweek so I imagine there's a bunch of things I haven't taken into in consideration yet.

Re: Beatleweek 2004
Jongo, Hi, I am a 9 year veteran of Beatleweek, and would like to offer the following advice:- Firstly, The Adelphi is usually sold out on the last day of the previous convention, and not because of guests, its just that people usually book the following year at that point. Secondly, I have stayed at the North Western, (which is Liverpool University student accomodation) in previous years which has many advantages, 1, it's probably the cheapest package, 2, you get your own single room without having to pay a single supplement, 3, since its self catering, you dont have to suffer the awful breakfast in the Adelphi!, and anyway, you wont be up in time for breakfast any morning as you wont be in bed till the small hours, so why waste your money? 4, most of the bands are put up in the North Western, so any after gig parties are much more likely to happen there, 5, it is very close, and I mean 5 minutes walk away from the Adelphi, 10 minutes from Mathew Street, right beside Lime Street Station and opposite the Art Galleries of Liverpool, if you look out your window, you will see a giant Mona Lennon poster staring back at you! Who could ask for more. All the packages contain all the tickets you will need and will include full details of everything that is going on. So there you have it, it is absolutely not necessary to stay in the Adelphi, so do go, if you want to, we can meet up, as some of us Beatlelinkers did last year (except Harbidge! Hey Harb!!) to help you enjoy yourself. Personally speaking, I wouldnt miss it for the world, I know that Fab Faux are playing again next year, and you just HAVE to see them. I have made some really good friends through the festival, from all over the world, you wont be sorry you made the trip, you'll only regret not having done it before! Look forward to seeing you there. Jai Guru Deva Om!
