Default \"Just A Dream\"

hi!

I'm new on this board. I'm glad I've discovered it yesterday. I'm 30 years old and a Ringo Fan since I'm 12.
I bought all the LP's (in the eighties) .
He is still one of my heroes.

As I know from a biography there exists a song which isn't available anymore - "Just A Dream".

I wanted to ask if it's possible to get this song??
Could someone help me please?

thanks
Harry

Drowning In The Sea Of Love b/w Just A Dream
Ringo Starr
Label Polydor
Catalogue No. 2001 734
Country of Origin England
Release Date 16th September 1977
U.K. Chart Detail : Did NOT chart.
Detail : Ringo's tenth solo single.

This single was released two weeks before his next album "Ringo The 4th" on which it was included.

Very big at the time due to their success with the "Philadelphia Records" label, this was written by Gamble and Huff. It was originally recorded by Joe Simon in 1971 who took it to number 11 in the Billboard charts, something once again Ringo failed to do.

The B-side was not included on the album.

The single was not released in a picture sleeve.

Just A Dream
(Richard Starkey/Vini Poncia)

Things are never really what they seem to be,
Is it all outside or just inside of me?
Still I got to carry on and on, (And on)
Even when all hope is gone.

Never knowing who is right and what is wrong,
Spending all my time locked up inside this hole.
Words of love that simply can't explain (Explain)
All the joy and all the pain.

And then you came like a dream in the night,
I can't refuse you when I'm holding you tight.
And then I wake up, (Wake up)
And in the morning light, (Morning light, morning light)
It's all just a dream, (Dream)
It's all just a dream. (Dream)

Now I have to face another day,
Never knowing if you're near or far away.
Keeping you locked inside my mind, (My mind)
When I sleep, the key I find.

And then you came like a dream in the night,
I can't refuse you when I'm holding you tight.
And then I wake up, (Wake up)
And in the morning light, (Morning light, morning light)
But it's all just a dream, (Dream)
It's all just a dream.

(Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo)
(Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo)
(Oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo -)

And then you came like a dream in the night,
I can't refuse you when I'm holding you tight.
And then I wake up, (Wake up)
And in the morning light, (Morning light, morning light)
It's all just a dream, (Dream)
It's all just a dream.

And then you came like a dream in the night,
I can't refuse you when I'm holding you tight.
And then I wake up, (Wake up)
And in the morning light, (Morning light -)
It's all just a dream,
It's all just a dream, (Just a dream)
It's all just a dream,
It's all just a dream, (Just a dream)
It's all just a dream,
It's all just a dream. (Just a dream)

(Oo -)

WOW!

I'm impressed. Thank you AnyRoad69.
This was a very nice welcome!

After downloading I will listen to it!

Ringo was really my first hero when I was about 12.
In my opinion he is a very good, groovy drummer. He has this certain feeling and warmth and I prefer his solo work to the Beatles recordings.

I loved him and his music and as time went by he was always in my mind although I moved in other directions in my life and musically.

But with Vertical Man and Ringorama he returned to my everyday life and the CD rereleases beginning in the early nineties made many dreams come true.

All I hope the albums from Rotogravure to Bad Boy will be released again with bonus tracks?!?! and 24-Bit Mastering...

peace & luv
Harry

Thanks again!

All I can say is: I love Just A Dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's really true Disco - and this is the reason why I love this Ringo-period best.

But is it possible to get or buy this song in CD-quality?

Does anyone have the bootleg mentioned above?

cheers

Harry

Thanks!

But I couldn't find it anywhere.
I have all Ringo LPs some even twice and all the CDs.

Is it possible that someone could get me this song in CD quality?
That would be nice. It would finish my collection of Ringo's 70ies releases I began to love when I was 12 years old.

Although my taste changed over the years, today I love Ringo more than ever. He has this charm and style and love his music! I listen to his songs again and again and I'm excited the same way I was 18 years ago!

Anyone could help?

thanks

Harry

I see ...

But let's hope Ringo the 4th will be remastered and rereleased ...

It's strange. Back in 1987 when I first heared of Just A Dream I never thought of the possibillities of the internet nowadays. I was sure that this was a "lost song".
But I'm glad I can listen to it now thanks to mp3.
