Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
There's an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer called "The Yoko Factor" where Spike the vampire tries to split up Buffy and her friends by turning them against each other... obviously a reference to how the Beatles may (or may not) have been split up by Yoko.
In an episode of Friends Pheobe and her Mom are thrilled to discover they both like pizza and The Beatles!
In the new Hugh Grant film Lvoe Actually there are LOADS of Beatles references. "All You Need Is Love" is played at someone's wedding, and a kid who is learning to play the drums idolises Ringo and has "Ringo Rules!" written on his door. I confirm that Ringo does, indeed, rule!

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yeah, I saw that movie too and I was thrilled for the constant references! There was one more, when Hugh Grant (as the Prime Minister) responds to a pledge of unity by Billy Bob Thorton (as the president of the USA), saying that Britain is an important country, and he says something like, "We've got Shakespeare, David Beckham's left foot, and the Beatles"!

There was that lame episode of The Simpsons when Homer became a hippy ("D'Oh in the Wind"). The ending credits feature a load of psychedelic images and blurring colours with "Tomorrow Never Knows"-type music, with Homer's voice treated to sound like John's on the actual record (eerie, distant) then at the end of it Homer says "I buried Flanders."
May have been mentioned before.

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
In Family Guy the baby Stewie says "I got blisters on my fingers!" after playing some song in banjo. ... I dont dont know if this has been posted:
In that ol' sitcom Newsradio, (you know, with Phil Hartman, the one about the radio broadcasting), when Dave's girlfriend Lisa says Dave she wants to have a baby, Lisa told him she could work and he could be in home taking care of the baby.
"You expect me to take care of the baby?"- Dave
"Of course, just like John Lennon!" - Lisa
"Oh yeah, that worked great for him".
Also in an earlier episode when the whole office didnt know that Dave (the boss) and Lisa (an employee) were dating, Dave tells Lisa (I dont remember exactly, so its something like this):
"We have to finish this, you know what people think about Yoko Ono"
and later in the episode when the owner of the station finds out about the relationship, he tells Dave:
"You cant date her, you know what people thought about Paul McCartney"
"...It was John Lennon sir" - Dave
"No, People actually liked him" or something like that.

In the movie 'Heartbreakers' the main character is a con woman, pretending to be Russian, and is persuaded to sing a 'real' Russian song in a Russian restaraunt. The song of her choice... Back in the USSR, and enough people know it they sing along, not the whole song just a verse or so.

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
Well, they're not really movies, since they are made for TV only, and are part of a series, but...
On December 20, 2003, there was a show on TV here in Germany called "Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall: Yesterday", featuring a crime involving an elderly woman who is found dead in her home. Nothing of value is missing except for her son's extensive Beatles collection... The whole film was filled with Beatles music, memorabilia, mentions, a tour of the Reeperbahn (it took place in Hamburg) and a guest spot by Tony Sheridan, playing himself.
Starting from the names of some characters (Cynthia), to the music, through to them finding a reel which supposedly contained the earliest recording of the Beatles, playing "Twist and Shout" (which was blank, of course. ;-)), it was one big Beatles tribute.
Also, a preview for a series starting up again in 2004 showed one of the characters (a cop) in a bar, wearing a Beatles wig and shouting to the bar-tender: "Do you have anything by the Beatles?"

<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Hey, I just saw that movie on TV the other night, is that when you saw it? Anyhow, I noticed that Beatles reference too, it was pretty cool. And then later on, when Paige (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is taken to the hotel room with her new husband, the song "oh my love" is playing softly. It plays again later when Paige reunites with him after a misunderstanding (don't want to give everything away).

Yeah that's when I saw it. I am too hard of hearing for background noise so I missed the other one.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but I apologize if it has and I just missed it.
I was watching According To Jim the other night and Cheryl was quizzing Jim on how well he knew her. She asked him what her favorite band was, and he replied "Some obscure group no one's heard of." Then she screamed at him, "The Beatles!!"

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
I don't know if anyone has seen this but today my son and I were watching the Powerpuff Girls and the episode we were watching was almost entirely about the Beatles. Mojo jojo (the villian) was wearing a white suit like John and had found the love of his life Myoko. The monsters named The Beat alls were on a roof terroizing the town and the mayor called the girls and said "the beat alls are on the rooftop again, why can't they let it be?" Also another character was named Judy and everytime someone called out to her they said "hey Jude." There were many more references in the episode. It was very cute.

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
The Flintsones had an episode where the hillbillies got upset over hearing "bug music" which was a group of four singers simply singing "yeah, yeah, yeah". In the movie "Peggy Sue Got Married" there is a scene where a drunken Peggy Sue who has gone back in time to the '50's tells her father that she's going to Liverpool to discover The Beatles.
I also remember the pilot episode of "Family Ties" which centers around the family going to see "A Hard Day's Night".

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
One of my favorite tv shows..."Mr. Show" which aired on HBO for 4 seasons. Its a sketch comedy show and they made a few Beatles jokes and spoofs during the show...specifically:
Season 3, Episode 4: One of the skits is called "Got a Good Thing Going - The Beetletown Players" and its a video spoof of "A Hard Day's Night"...its filmed in black and white and shows the shows two stars Bob and David running and hiding from fans.
Season 3, Episode 5: Skit called "The Fad 3" in black and white again...London 1962...three men spotted by Brian Blemming...but rather than musicians, they become models. They have the mop-top hair and everything. Photo sessions in Abbington Studios. Screaming girls and live "performances" of them just standing there.
Press Conference: How do you like America?
Fab 3: Sunny side up.
Press Conference: Do you think your fame will grow?
Fab 3: We've been photographed more than Jesus Christ. (and were shocked by lack of controversy)
Experimental photo shoot where they overexposed a photo...simply known as "Overexposure(The Blank Photo)".
The rise in the Beatles (they show a clip) and the price of film development led to the breakup of the Fad 3.
One of them then committed suicide. And another one "divides his time between aisle six of the Norwich quick mart and ... the break room. He said he would be willing to do a reunion photo, but only under any circumstances."
Okay, I've written the whole thing out for you, but it really doesn't do it justice. Go check it out for yourselves!!

I saw the movie 'Tootsie' last night and spotted a Beatles poster. There was a scene where Jessica Lange went back to her childhood home with the 'in drag' Dustin Hoffman. They went into her bedroom and there was a nice Beatles poster on the wall. I have seen that movie a couple of times over the years and never saw that poster.

I saw the new movie "50 First Dates" starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore this weekend. At one point in the movie, Drew's character turns down Adam's character's advances by pretending she has a boyfriend, even though he knows that she doesn't. Adam asks, "So what's this guy's name then?" and she's like, "Ringo." He's like, "Oh, and let me guess, his last name is Starr." She's like, "No, McCartney!" Haha. It's a cute movie, and they also play "Another Day" at one point.
Also, did anyone watch "Friends" this past week? Phoebe and Mike walked down the isle to "Here, There, and Everywhere", played on the steel drums and it sounded cool!

Re: How many movies/tv shows can you think of that have something to do with The Beatles?
A 1964 episode ofPetticoat Junction (we used to call it the T&A Line) where Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo and Betty Jo and a friend donned moptops and called themselves the "Lady Bugs" and spoofed on the Beatles.
A 1965 episode of Gilligan's Island where the Diva, the Hometown Girl and the Rich Doyenne called themselves the "Honey Bees" after a quasi-Beatle band from England landed on their island.
Episode 26 of The Munsters where a Beatle-esqu band played a good version of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and a song about Ringo. That was 1964.
In 1974, Gloria on All in the Family tells Meathead's friend Stuart, "When I was 14 years old I thought the Beatles' hair was beautiful!"
Who could forget George Harrison guesting on The Simpsons?
