I am not surprised at all and quite hopeful for Paul in this big move from Capitol, where he has been forever. They have not been promoting his last few albums well at all--print ad placement and TV ad placement was poor which given who he is and his legacy, I always found odd, even a bit sad. It seemed they really were not standing behind his albums/CDs the past 10 years and Paul is getting older and I am sure wants only to work with an organization who makes him a #1 priority. I thought the promotion of CHAOS could have been more high-visibility. Even CDRom placement stands in places such as Tower Records was not prominent.

Here's a little news bit I found today:
http://www.cleveland.com/entertainme...220.xml&coll=2
Hair's a deal:
A lock of John Lennon's hair sold for $48,000 Wednesday in an auction of Beatles' memorabilia collected by the band's hairdresser. The hair - inside an autographed copy of Lennon's book "A Spaniard in the Works" - sold to an unnamed bidder. Gorringes auction house had estimated the hair would sell for $4,000 to $6,000. Lennon gave the book and hair to Betty Glasow, the Fab Four's hairdresser during their heyday. He wrote in the book, "To Betty, Lots of Love and Hair, John Lennon xx." Glasow, who kept the Beatles' mop tops trimmed on the set of their films "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!" in the 1960s, decided to sell the items because she wanted fans to have them, said Nick Muston, a director of the auction house. Other items sold at auction include signed photos. George Harrison signed one "George 'Dandruff' Harrison." It sold for $13,000.

Beatle's ashram in India decaying
Quote:
RISHIKESH, India - With their iconic long hair and necklaces of Indian marigolds, the Beatles journeyed to this city in the foothills of the Himalayas in the late 1960s. They were at the height of their fame, but they came to escape material wealth and the pressures of celebrity.
Their destination: an ashram, where they would study with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of Transcendental Meditation.
|
Quote:
Tourists and adventurers clad in dreadlocks, Birkenstocks and Hindu goddess T-shirts still show up in this self-proclaimed "yoga capital of the world." They come in search of enlightenment and stress relief, and they find hotels offering ayurvedic "third eye" massages, chakra rebalancing and the chance to visit the ashram where the Beatles once slept.
But many visitors are surprised to find that the ashram, now owned by the government, is closed and dilapidated, filled with overgrown weeds and slowly being destroyed by desperately poor villagers who loot the teak furnishings and sell them for firewood.

Paul is coming Down-under!
Hello all,
a few weeks ago it was announced on the TV entertainment news that Macca
is finally returning to Australia later this year ('08) to do concerts. He hasn't been Down-under for more than 20 years. A team of wild horses won't keep me away. He's bound to do Let It Be and/or Yesterday and I'll be balling my eyes out (LOL).

Thanks for that. I love this one right now; http://www.ecanadanow.com/news/enter...-20080121.html
Claire Patterson, who lives opposite Heather's mansion, said: "I'm a Macca fan, not a Mucca fan. I can't believe we didn't get an invite, but the neighbours opposite did. It's so rude.
"When we have a party, we invite everyone. Anyone is welcome. But it seems we weren't wanted. We decided to play 'Hey Jude' out the window to make our anger clear."
I love her neighbours!

btw you must be a Bowie fan. your 'name' is the title of a song which is probably my most favorite non-Beatles song of all time.

G'day mate! Paul last toured Australia with Linda and their band in 1993. I'll be looking forward to any news of another down-under visit. I hope he does Live & Let Die again. Last time it was to a dazzling fireworks background.

No band that was created by the Disney channel could possibly be the next Beatles.
Because of them and Hannah Montana (bleh!), Disney has lost a great deal of my respect.
