Do you like John Lennon wax figure?
I`ve just read that Madame Tussauds Las Vegas has announced to display the original four wax figures of John, Paul, George and Ringo. The figures are from the London wax museum.

What do you think of John`s figure? I had the opportunity to see the one at NYC Museum, and I didn´t like it that much . I`d always thought I was going to love it....
What do you guys think?...

Though I've never seen any of their wax figures in real life, every picture I've seen of them always seems a bit off... They just don't seem quite right and it bothers me. But wax figures are kind of creepy in general...

They never really look like who they are supposed to be.

I've seen them at the London Waxworks and they are a bit rubbish!!!!!
In fact, I have a postcard with a slightly bigger picture of that display on it!!!!! If I can find it, I'll post it here!!!!!
And, if you ask me nicely, I'll tell you about how I accidentally dislocated the foot of George on that display!!!!!

Yes, it´s kind of creepy, I agree, but you can see many other figures that are really good...so why they didn`t make their best efforts with those ones? Was John´s hair that red?
By the way, I don`t know why my computer posted twice the same thread... that was not my fault

I don't think I'd mind them so much if they actually looked even remotely like the boys. I had to look at the instruments to figure out who was who. George and Ringo look way off!

I've never understood why museums bother make them, or why some people flock to go see them.
Heck, the new Céline Dion one = it'll cost you 40.00$ to get you picture taken with it !
I would MUCH rather go see pictures of my idols, or, at worst, items that have belonged to them.
And even there, I couldn't have cared less about seeing Roy Orbison's toothbrush but say they had one of his guitars, his sunglasses, or the sheet on which he wrote ''Oh, Pretty Woman'', then... yes.

I'd probably find them creepy if some of them actually looked like the people they were meant to be!!!!!

... yeah, it makes one wonder... as she USED to be pretty good looking some years ago...
... man, has she ever thinned-out... eck, even back a few years ago, fans would mail her cookies and cakes thinking she wasn't eating enough.
Then again, her hubby/manager got to her when she was only 12 years old.

... the only thing that I SORT OF like about those is when they unveil them in the presence of the actual celebrity and he/she has a funny mock recation to the statue...
Sort of like, though I'm NOT a fan of hers (as, among other things she totally butchered Roy Orbison's ''I drove all night'' !).... they unveiled the Céline Dion wax statue, her husband put his arm arround the statue, while the real Céline gave him an exgerated stare and pointed mencingly at him as if saying ''Don't you start flirting with her''.
My favorite, though not about a statue... was when (late in his life) Winston Churchill was presented with a painting (portrait) of himself, but the painting looked awfull and dull, with a green tinge to it, so Churchill just chukled ''It is obviously and example of modern art''.
... but back to wax statues, it would have ben soooo funny if, when they unveiled the Beatles wax statues (circa 1964 ones which are on the ''Sgt. Pepper'' cover), the real Beatles had been there... looked at each other in embarssement...
... with, say, John saying ''... errr... which one of those is supposed to be me then ?''
