Default Vinyl or CDs?

do you prefer vinyl or CDs? personally, i like vinyl. here's why:
1) the sound is better (or at least the same!), as long as you keep your records in a reasonably okay place. my dad kept his in a basement for 15 years before i listened to them, and i've only encountered 2 with a couple hisses and pops. here's a site that explains the difference in sound between vinyl and CD better than i could: http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/question487.htm
2) the music i love--the beatles, bob dylan, bruce springsteen, the who, etc--was released on vinyl, and i like to listen to it in its original form
3) i'm somewhat of a romantic, and vinyl just seems more romantic and cooler--it seems to me like records have a soul and a mood and it seems like the musician poured some of himself (or herself!) into the grooves. CDs seem more clinical. i listen to them on long car trips and things like that, but i prefer vinyl.

I go with vinyl and am in the process of digitalising mine at the moment.

CD's, they're smaller and easier to carry.

I'm big on vinyl. The sound is a lot better, imo.

I'm a vinyl collector (in fact, I'm going to a record show this Saturday!). But I mainly love vinyl because it just feels more real than CDs, from the disc to the packaging. Maybe that's because it's what I grew up with.

As far as portability, I probably touch my CDs even less than my records. My songs go with me everywhere on my iPod.

Well I voted for CDs mainly cuz by the time I was old enough to buy my own music, it was either CDs or cassettes. I do own 3 of my own records but I've never actually played them...

I can't vote because I have not really experiences from vinyl. I wait for those remasters and then vote because on Capitol CDs the sound is better than in 1987 Parlophone releases.

When I'm home and can use the sound system I love vinyl, but seeing how that rarely ever happens, CDs.

Although I love the sounds of records, when stuff goes on my iPod I am a nut about the highest sound quality, and no pops or scratches.

I have almost all the Beatles cd's, because on a road trip, there's nothing better! CD's are more convenient, but it's harder to really pay attention to the music while driving, so it often becomes more of a background noise! I have always preffered vinyl, because there is a warmth to them, and very few hisses and scratches. Plus, if I put on a record, it's becasue I have the time to really get lost in the music.

I voted for CD's, only because they're more compact, and the sound is good. I grew up listening to and buying vinyl, but I found that after a while they would get scratched, and skip, etc. When I first started buying CD's, I thought they were they greatest things; but I realized that after a while, they can also skip, and become cracked, etc! So I guess neither one is perfect. But I'll pick CD's.

Cd's are more durable and portable, and you hear more detail, but vinyl feels better to listen to...

Here's something I've wondered. In commedies these days, whenever a person's thoughts get interrupted, they always play a record scratching. I wonder in the future if kids will know what that is.

I love vinyl, but CDs are just easier to find and use these days. I do prefer vinyl over CDs, but CDs are easier to deal with in this day and age since they're pretty much the default way to listen to music (I'm excluding iPods and stuff, here).

Well, my kids surely will. I could never part with my record player!
