Memorial Concert To Honor George Harrison
A sign that reads, "Still pissed at Yoko" is a one of the many nostalgic Beatles memorabilia that adorns the office of Steven Schenkel, music professor at Webster University. Schenkel was a diehard Beatles fan long before he became an expert at performing or teaching jazz guitar.
Schenkel's lifelong love of the Beatles has prompted his latest endeavor - paying homage to George Harrison with a memorial concert titled, "All Things Must Pass: Jazz Interpretations of the Music of George Harrison." The concert, set for 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10 in the Winifred Moore Auditorium at Webster University, will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the late Beatle's death.
