It makes me smile again to see the Sun being discussed, oh and also in a good way ofcourse to read it is not always being believed.

That paper has more fantasy than all the Disney writers together.

You Know, I don't get what Peter Cox was thinking if he really has these tapes recorded by Linda wanting to expose them now? sounds a bit vengeful to me?(I was sorry to read that he was not invited to Linda's funeral, I will bet there were lots of Linda's & Paul's friends not invited), whyyyyy would he want to betray Linda's intimate thoughts, we all need to vent as did Linda(life for any of us is not always a bowl of cherries, sometimes we are in the pits, a bit if a stretch of a book title of Erma Bombeck's)....

I think the whole thing is sad, Naomi. To be fair about it, let's not jump to conclusions. We don't know the whole story and it's probably for the best that way. Only those directly involved really know the story and what is being reported is to be called into question. Keeping an open mind will, I hope erase dividing lines. It is so sad, for the whole family. I just hope and perhaps naively so that they will reach a point of amicable resolution as they travel down their separate Long & Winding Roads.

Yeah, you're right. I was only saying what I am lead to believe. Who truly knows what the end results will be until they happen.

Peter Cox and Fred Seaman (god, that sounds like a billing for a porno movie--apt enough, I suppose, since they are both obscene) should get together and go bowling.

I'm sure those tapes, if admitted in the case, discusses the usual marital squabbles that any couple faces. Paul's admitted to have bouts with the bottle. So what? Yeah, he likes pot. So did Linda. I have no doubt that anything Linda said on those tapes will be taken out of context and twisted into a pretzel to show Paul as an abuser. *sigh* I'm sure Linda would be spinning in her grave, if she hadn't been cremated.

Fred Seaman! Don't get us started on him! You all know about that mess he caused with Yoko, Sean et al. He's the man who allegedly stole the Lennon diaries and who wrote that execrable book. Another member met Fred and Francie Schwartz on the rmb music boards and Fred and Francie are infamous for acting a fool and causing trouble. (Francie is not a person I think Paul wants to think about or is a part of his life he would ever want to revisit). Both wrote low level books that were ten steps below tabloid sensationalism.

Please do NOT take what Freddie boy says as gospel; instead take it with an OCEANFUL of salt!

As for those tapes, I think it is best if they are kept private for Paul to decide on what he wants to do with them. How was information about their existence ever made public in the first place?!

Those tapes are about his life with Linda and I really do not think they concern anybody else. How cruel to trot out their private discussions and other private aspects of their lives. This whole damn mess makes me sick and it makes me and How cruel to exploit human suffering and use it for sales and entertainment. Even a buzzard is better than that because at least a buzzard will wait until you are dead before eating your heart out!

How did Peter Cox get those tapes? I mean, Linda was Paul's wife. Did she will them to him, or what? Anyone know? Just curious. Figured if anyone knew, you guys would.

If you go one page back and look under brazilian flag's post, the info is there. It seems that basically Peter and Linda were friends and the conversations were some sort of memoir that she taped. Sounds like maybe a conversation with Peter in an interview style. So I would suppose that's how Peter got to keep them.

I have a very hard time believing Paul ever beat Linda or anything to that affect. If he did I doubt his older children would have as good a relationship as they do with him.

That is a very good point. I'd have to agree with that one.

I'm sure Paul and Linda had their moments of arguments but all couples have those here and there.

It is a shame that anyone would try to make the image of Paul and Lindas love look like a shamble.

You would think Peter Cox would want to keep these quiet. If he was such good friends with Linda, he should honor her wishes. Obviously, she did not want these tapes made available to the entire world, or she would have released them herself.

I am sorry, but I too cannot envision Paul so much as laying a finger on Linda. That just does not sound like a part of his personality. When a person is under the influence, all inhibitions fly out the window and if a person is prone to violent outbursts and acts of violence, it will come out. Paul even said that himself in a fairly recent interview.

I think this whole damn thing is just tabloid sensationalism calculated to get people's attention - it worked, didn't it? Here we are, talking about this and I think that claim about marital abuse is a crock of codswollup. I don't buy it and I think it would be best all around, best period of those tapes are left in the private care and custody of Paul. That was meant for him and Linda and maybe their children, but not for the world at large.

I agree, BB!

But my reason is that Paul knew Linda wouldn't have an issue in leaving him. It wasn't that Linda didn't love Paul, but Paul knew that if he stepped out of line, Linda simply wouldn't take it. She would quietly pack up her things, take the kids & go back to New York. Linda laid down the law before they were married & she would say even in interviews when asked if she ever feared that Paul would cheat on her or anything. Linda believed in "if you love something set it free" sort of thing. She said Paul could go off with anyone he chose to, but that if he went off with someone else, she'd take the kids & go home. She loved him, but wouldn't have stood for abuse from him towards her or the kids. So, I just don't buy it. I mean, why would he suddenly become that sort of person?

Linda wasn't the type to feel trapped. She had the means to make it on her own.

Default Stella !

What a great gal Stella is ! You've got to love her !

If Paul was violent to Linda wouldn't Stella or Heather (Paul's daughter) have witnessed it ?

Stella is the smart cookie, she saw Heather Mills coming...I can just see her pregnant ranting at Millsy !

Why would she be so adamantly supporting her dad if he did beat on Linda ? She wouldn't be, she'd be on her late Mother's side for sure. With such a tight, close family I cannot believe that if any of the alleged cruelty took place, Stella would be the first one to stand up for her Mother.

As for the tapes, aren't they from 1989 ?? Like17 years ago ? i can imagine paul is no angel, high maintenance, huge ego etc...and I bet they did have blues (like any NORMAL people in relationships do)....but why would a tough lady like Linda stay with him if he was violent ? She had the money and fame to make a break and not really suffer homelessness or lack of money. i can understand why some battered wives stay with their abusers, they have NO where to go, kids to feed, low self esteem, no job etc...But Linda ? She had resources.

We can't imagine what is going on a the moment behind the scenes..only what we read in the papers.

Hmm...I was wondering why macca is not releasing an album at the moment...DAMN it would sell !!!!!! (only joking)....

Stella sounds just as I would have pictured Linda responding to absurdities as have been thrown back and forth regarding her Dad and present wife in the press, wow the press are war mongers, just dangling the "he said, she said bull" out there constantly, trying to star WWIII with Paul and family....Never mind that I too think Linda have said "see ya" if Paul gave her any real "crap" she obviously was one lady who could take care of herself!

I agree with everyone here. Perhaps Linda was experimenting with the idea of a autobiography or maybe Cox has a very selective memory and taped her without her knowing it. We all know Paul has a large ego and can be bossy (Lennon Remembers, LET IT BE are blunt examples of the ego in full regalia) and I have a gut feeling that caused some legit hurt feelings now and then. In VANITY FAIR sometime in the early 90s, Linda says very convincingly that if she was ever mistreated by Paul, she could leave, no looking back, that her self-love was enough that leaving a man who did not revere her would be easy for her. Being married to a genius/artist is not easy. Paul even spoke openly after Linda's death to USA TODAY that he was in therapy dealing with issues such as how bossy he was as a husband, how perfectionist he could be. Cox may be searching for money from Paul to purchase the tapes. As w/ Mills, how tacky, how pathetic a plea for some attention. By the way did anyone view THE SPACE BETWEEN US on A&E and see how Mills is cut out of every single shot now?

I actually did think about that while watching it! I was wondering if that was intentional. Since they've been going their separate ways for some time now, it certainly could be. I guess if you showed her face on the video she would sue for royalties?

Good one Asha!

And what might be the selling price on that cost?

No need to answer, I think I know the answer!

Best wishes....!
